Beauty Submissions – Open

The time has come once again, and We challenge you to submit works worthy of the competition for the Seal of Beauty!

Before We get into Our usual review of the submission guidelines, a note: Avechna’s announcement (Public News #1994) must be taken into consideration when creating and contributing to this Challenge of Beauty. How you do this is up to you, and your interpretation will be considered in the judging.

Now, as for the instructions. To submit, please send a message to the Charites including the following:

• The Cartel Name on behalf of which the design is submitted.
• The Design Number AND Appearance (to prevent confusion).
• The Name of the original designer.

Also note that this time you may also include additional information (up to one sentence!) as part of the submission to explain your interpretation or inspiration if you would rather not rely on Our ability to divine the meaning or inspiration should it be something more obscure.

Example: For cartel “Divine Furnishings” I would like to submit design 12345, “a totally not poisoned sweater for an Awakener”, which was originally designed by Maylea.

Please note that only Trademasters (not cartel owners) can submit designs. Also, to limit the amount of confusion, you are not allowed to change the submission of your cartel once it has been made. We might be willing to make the occasional exception for this if there are good reasons for doing so; ISSUE yourself if you believe yourself in this situation.

Additionally, please take note of the following:

• All submissions must be approved before being submitted to Us via message.
• You may only submit one design per character. This does not apply to players, however. If you are playing both Trader Bob and Bob Junior, you may still submit a single design on each character’s behalf.
• You do not need to design something new, but your design must work with the theme set by Avechna.
• IMPORTANT: In order to keep the strain off the approval process please MAKE SURE your design does not have easily correctable mistakes such as spelling errors, linebreaks, missing words or typos by copy-pasting it into a program with a spelling checker and PROOFREADING it CAREFULLY. The more times your design has to go through the queue, the longer it will take and the more work it will be for Us.
• Each cartel gets to submit one design and this design must be in the cartel on behalf of which it is being submitted; this can be any design on that cartel’s design list. It is not possible to switch designs between cartels at this time, so please consider your options carefully.
• Please do not use the NO MORTAL REVIEWS flag lightly. We are going to be very busy making sure all regular designs get through in time and designs which bypass the mortal reviewers are always last on the to-do list.

You will receive a notification by message when your design has been accepted. If several days pass and you have not received acknowledgement you may message Us a second time as per the above directions. Make sure it has been a few days since you contacted Us.

The submission deadline is midnight (weave) on Sunday, August 11th 2024, by GMT standards (as displayed on the TIME command). Best of luck!
