Who wants to be the next Globglob Mesherbrub?!? ninja.gif Would be quite interesting to see it available to some people, have "radio" instead of newspapers like the other IRE games.

It'd be great if there was a news channel that you could get FFA play by play or political broadcasts. Probably impossibly hard to code, but it'd be great none the less.

Bah I mean a real person doing it. That'd be fun! I'd love to honestly, always been on those "paper teams" that output news ever decade or whatever. Its always fun to do extra stuff like that *hum*

"Welcome to Aetherwave Free Hallifax, you're on the air with Unhiria Two-Eyes and tonight's guest, Osric of the Seventh Fire! We'll be taking listener aethercasts at quarter-past and half-past the hour, so sit tight, keep your Planar honed, and we'll begin with the program after this brief commercial break..."

I'd listen, anyway.

"Aetherwave hosts" sounds wrong. I hope we don't end with aether IPs, aether routers and aether firewalls. biggrin.gif

Ya don't really have a choice in the matter there. The Aetherwave broadcasts and Aetherwave hosts have already been implemented in the histories, so changing them would alter the entire history around.

And I don't think ol' Lolly would be happy with that now, would he?

Probably the best way to handle an aethercast program would be to have a semi-private channel that anyone can listen to; the reason it's semi-private is to keep most of the content there focused on the host(s), guest(s), and commercials. The equivalent of the "listeners' phone calls" would be handled by sending tells to an appointed filtering techie (who probably has to get everyone's tea and fishcakes before they're allowed a toilet break), who would then temporarily activate a caller's ability to speak on the channel.

Investigations into aethertech, such as wave-resonater crystals to be used as "radios" which carry voices, as opposed to an actual channel, would make this additionally interesting. Lusternia certainly already has enough political backing to keep talk radio in business for years...!

That just makes my head hurt. WRONG WRONG WRONG!

And that is evidence of slightly too much thought going into this worrying idea.

All that would be my (and Yepela's) idea of a nightmare. Even just the notion that people would listen and then talk about it on public aethers... *shudder*

I just hope there will be a new command then...EATHERWAVEOFF
