Power

Back to Common Grounds.

So...I don't know if I was supposed to pick up this info somewhere, but I certainly haven't seen it. It was the first question to occur to me when I understood the nature of Power and the Nexus.

Is there a maximum amount of power that a Nexus can hold?

Granted, we may not have seen all of Power's uses yet, it may hold some value beyond what we know presently, but as it is, power grows a lot more then it is used, in a responsible and controlled environment. Populations will grow, and we might see 'new' cities before the number of villages increases substantially. Are we going to get to a point someday where power is really only limiting in that you have to go 'recharge' at some point if you use it often?

It seems to my little mind that making power rarer, harder to get, and limiting the reserves at some point would make things a lot more interesting and dynamic, instead of creating a potential point where power no longer holds any real currency.

I suspect all of this is well thought out and planned, and I just don't know (or They aren't telling). But power seems to be a pretty important part of the way things are set up, and it isn't clear to me whether at some point some city/commune might have more then we know how to use (currently)...

Corrections, comments, concerns?

Power as it stands is just another number for some people, mostly people who are higher level and have link in planar. I think that there will be a use for power in the end, but it'll be a bit before we see that use.

In other words, power will be used to create Vernal Gods and Goddess

The history practically screams it. Of course, I'd love to see the quest called "Break and seals and don't get ****ing eaten by a bunch of continent-spanning uber-Cthulhuesque Soulless Gods before you can create a few hundred Vernal Gods to try to ward them off".

getting eaten by a soulless divine...dunno, I think I'd be a little too small for em. Maybe they'll bypass me...hopefully. blink.gif
