I'll be heading there when I next log on, but I want to be careful - I really don't like dying. Since it's the Plane before Astral which is supposedly really dangerous...are there aggressive creatures? If so, which ones? What should I look out for? What gives good exp? biggrin.gif

Don't go on Nil, or the Nihilists will kill you. And no, there are not aggresive creatures.. except for Ashtorath.. who will kill you in 2 hits.

Also, don't go in Celestia or the Nihilists will kill you biggrin.gif

Mox is mad, but I am quite impressed that you guys got both of them.

And on-topic, I don't think there are any aggressive creatures in Celestia.

Except Nihilists. biggrin.gif

Oh, and when you're going through the onion-layers of planes, and you're on the elemental plane looking for the gateway to the next plane, and not doing a darn thing except exploring, watch out for those Magnagorans, cause, yeah, they'll kill ya. *roll*
Unknown2004-11-03 19:42:15
Wow, ok. If I can't go to Celestia, or Nil, what's the other place called?
Unknown2004-11-03 19:43:35
Ethereal?
Unknown2004-11-03 22:04:52
On the Cosmic Plane.
Daganev2004-11-03 22:07:32
Ok, the planes of existance are not for your random parusal (sp?) They have important functions and if just anyone was able to "explore" the plane that would be like letting someone "explore" the whitehouse whenever they felt like it, or "explore" your guildhall.
Dumihru2004-11-03 22:33:47
If you look at the history ("Aftermath of the Divine Wars"), access to the other two known cosmic planes was lost when Hallifax and Gaudiguch were frozen in time. So currently there is only Celestia and Nil (formerly Shallamar).

As Daganev mentioned, the guardian cities of these planes tend to be very protective of them. Celestians probably won't kill you outright if you appear in Celestia, unless you harm an angel or are mistaken for a raider.
Unknown2004-11-03 22:54:11
Daganev, it's perusal.

Thanks for all your advice. I think I'll visit Celestia but make it clear by yelling that my intentions are purely to explore. After all, Cronus may have qualms with both the cities purely because he is of the Seren, but that doesn't mean he would go around killing seraphs. Heck, I don't even like it when Serenwilders go killing orcs and then cheer about it. Cronus is always the first to point out they may be barbaric, but that's just because their culture is different from the norm.

I wonder why people kill everyone just because they set foot on Celestia or Nil? Probably just because they can.
Yes, yes, some will now say we protect it, it's ours, etc, etc. Uhm, well, maybe you should browse through some posts again where it was stated that noone owns any plane. I can understand it if you would attack every enemy there, but no, that it is of course not the case. If you would be consistent with this so-called logic then you would have to enemy everyone that doesn't belong to your city. I mean, is Nil or Celestia more important than your city? And I wonder, should Serenwilde start attacking everyone on the Ethereal Plane?
Now please swallow your first three quick responses and think a moment.
Gwynn2004-11-04 08:09:32
They actually do have a very important reason for protecting the planes, it has the potential to greatly effect their power levels, not to mention the fact that RP wise, they dont want people killing the guys that give them their abilities (same deal with Serenwilde on Ethereal).

The planes are, and always will (and should be) very dangerous places. Planetravelling is not a walk in the park (unless of course you're in the Ethereal, and you have a twisted view of what a park is)
Niara2004-11-04 08:20:15
But their homecities are much more important and they don't attack everyone there....and according to this logic they would have to.
Also I think that easily 90% of the people who venture to Nil or Celestia just want to explore or move on to another plane.

Actually, I would say it is very difficult to distinguish the importance of City over Cosmic Plane. Sure, our city is important but then, it is a lot easier to protect with a lot less opportunities for utter destruction. The Cosmic Planes however harbor things that could literally cripple our power supply and greatly add to those of our enemies. It wouldn't be good for people....particularly those that we all may feel are a threat to wander around and figure out ways and strategies to attack our Planes. Now granted, we don't own the Planes but, at least in Magnagora's case, the Demon Lords do and they wouldn't be too happy if people were just wandering in to meet them freely.
Unknown2004-11-04 16:54:14
I don't mind people protecting their respective Planes. After all, Earth and Nil are claimed by the Taint, (aren't they?), and therefore Magnagora. Just don't kill ME, I'm nice. ohmy.gif
Azora2004-11-04 17:11:49
But when you don't have the nifty skill of just hopping to your particular plane, and have to use the gates to get through the onion-layers of planar existance, and you're just looking for the gateway to get to the next plane, and all of a sudden a bunch of territorial Magnagorans show up and slaughter you on the spot before you can even say "Wait, I'm just looking for the gate to the next dimension"...

(I realise that was a very long sentence, I apologize.)

Anyway, it tends to tick a person off. No warning, just bam, you're dead. And then you're called a fool, and not even explained to why you're a fool, or why you were killed.

Ah, I shall always remember my very first enjoyable planar experience. And yes, I am bitching, I know.
Typhus2004-11-04 19:45:04
Lets put it out for every person to understand... Don't travel to a plane that isn't your cities unless you have been approved and supervised. Sometimes even those that belong to other Guilds within your city. To act without approval, it is easy to assume you are raiding and should be killed before you know that you are being watched.
