Starsuckers, at least.

Okay, I know most of you older members will know this, but people who've never visited the water plane before probably don't. Well, you know those starsucker things? They do maybe 500 damage, maybe 600, with stoneskin and elementshield, can sometimes knock you off balance. Nothing too hard for all that experience, right? Wrong. Sometimes the stupid things do this lethal rage attack, that can do upwards of 2000 damage, even with protections. Which has put an end to many an overconfident adventur. Now, that's the only creature I know that does this type of thing, but are there any more?

That steam wraith in Imperian.

Red scorpions (in Achaea at least, not sure about Imperian/Aetolia). They usually have a 500 damage attack but every now and then they'll pull off what seems like a critical hit. I've gone from 2200 to dead in one hit.

Those newbie bakul priests in Imperian, killed many a Newbie, think it was like 30-40 dmg normal 250 dmg critical (remember imps got lower health)
Niara2004-11-04 07:34:26
Rockeaters sometimes pull out a much stronger attack than usual too.
Unknown2004-11-04 13:26:54
While they don't have a stronger attack, thorn beasts can have you bleeding insane amounts of damage if you don't clot like a madman. And I died twice to those stinkin' starsuckers.
Mordrin2004-11-04 13:48:29
Bulls on the Astral Plane will randomly use a much more powerful attack also.

down on your torso, shaking you vigourously.

I am very glad I was riding my turtle at the time so I didn't have to wait for the swim delay and could get out of the room quickly blink.gif

Oi oi! Thanks for reminding me about the thorn beasts. They actually do have a stronger attack, normally they trip, web and do about maybe 500, but on several occasions they took offense to my presence and bit off a good 1400 in one go. Still easier than starsuckers, mind. Sometimes they randomly aggro on you as well.
Unknown2004-11-04 17:13:18
On the note of Starsuckers in general though, I just have to ask........am I the only one that wants to sing NIN?
Unknown2004-11-04 18:34:07
that sounds vaguely familiar
Shamarah2004-11-05 12:36:31
Seawolves seem to have the same uber-attack as starsuckers.

that attack looks pretty much like the starsucker one... you sure your seawolf wasn't a starsucker in disguise?

and on a side note... seawolf? *SNICKER*
Kharvik2004-11-09 02:09:54
Those giant bats usually only do around 3-400 per hit... occasionally they'll smack you with a 1k+ though. Be warned wink.gif

Read what I said, David:

If you think seawolf sounds stupid, what about seacow? And they're real.
Unknown2004-11-09 21:51:37
Whats wrong with the name seawolf?

There are also things called wolfeels, and they don't look a thing like wolves. They look more like the head of a shrivelled up old man stuck on an eel body.

The Giant Bats like to team as well and they refill their health with one of their skills making them a pain to fight. Oozes seem to team as well and, while they don't hurt too much really, I found my health dropping at a critical rate.
Unknown2004-11-10 16:33:07
Also, Starsuckers break legs. So take mending. Luckily you can swim with broken legs, I just managed to swim away before I died. And if some nice passer-by hadn't lent me a mending vial, I'd probably still be there.

Oozes don't actually team, I tested that, and I think this applies to bats too -what DOES happen is that one of them runs out and then runs in again for no reason, and you start targetting that, and you hit it, and then both of them get annoyed and hit you...gah.
