Alrighty....granted I am 63 years old and level 64 but I have no guild so I have NO skills an NO weapons and some stupid ass Lorekeeper afflicts me stupidity, steals my artifact pack *which I think only I should be able to open* and steals 60k in the damned thing.....sure I might could have bought a fist sigil but it won't stop generosity.......thanks a lot to morons.

eh, one of my best friends ever from an IRe game, Harker, is over there. He'd be the only reason i'd go back to imperian. Imperian is heads and shoulders over aetolia and achaea, and lusternia is head and shoulders above imperian. I like the way it's set up here.
Zolas2004-11-05 03:20:49
Imperian's community is kind of... dead. Which is why I no longer play much over there.

Ah yes, poor Aetolia.
Don't, though, place any blame whatsoever on the volunteers, who work their socks off to improve things or -at least- two 'Gods' who -are- dedicated and very professional and committed.
Not their fault that it's stagnated so badly it's not worth anyone's time anymore.
BTW, what's Imperian really like these days? Was always the wacky geography that stumped me, rather than the RP, which I always enjoy and found to be in good shape over there.
Gimme a critique.

Popped onto my Idrasi. Three guildmembers logged in.
Popped onto my Saboteur. In over two months, his council has 20-30 new news posts.
Imperian is too quiet for my liking.

Imperian is quiet because anyone that stirs things up gets fed up and leaves.

The geography's practically identical to Achaea, save for a link between the (Mhojave/Shaari) desert and the Ravana hills... *scratch*
The game itself is pretty much more of the same. Same old suspects attacking other same old suspects, not much conflict currently for a change, but several little running inter-guild wars around the place.
Daganev2004-11-05 10:59:13
Actually, I find imperian to only be quite if your not invovled with stuff. Theres no shouts and people don't bother posting because everything is done in smaller groups, making actual interactions between large groups all that more exciting.
Main reason I'm not in Imperian so much anymore is that my Goddess, Cassiopeia who I've devoted me entire charachter to, keeps going inactive or something. and the whole star realm is ill defined.
and I'm a sucker for new stuff.
And one thing I think imperian is -Not- is the same old conflicts.
Its just very quite and personalized RP.

I'm talking on a global scale, hence inter-personal relationships don't really enter into it.
And probably the main reason I'm always biased towards it being quite is because usually there's only about thirty people around when I am at most. Silly timezones.

That doesn't explain how guilds that had 20 logged on at a time 2 months ago average (if lucky) 3 now.

I was an Idrasi novice and....according to their own code, Idrasi are supposed to shun magick as it is an aspect of the Taint of Demons......I was asked if I would use an eye sigil if a Saboteur were phased in the Guildhall and I said no....the question spiralled through a series of "what if" situations finally coming down to, "What if a guild elder told you and you would be outguilded for saying no?" And I said that I still wouldn't do it and they booted me. To me that is skewed logic...you believe more in breaking your morals to follow the instructions of a leader than to stand upon your morals and something that is right, especially something that is one of the founding philosophies of your guild? It's this kind of thing that the Idrasi suffer from. That and the constant pounding delivered by the Sabs.
Asarnil2004-11-05 14:36:41
You seriously got booted for that? The Idrasi have more problems than I thought of then.
Unknown2004-11-05 14:39:22
Swear to God, they told me that Leadership is a serious issue. Oh! And they kept the 10k gold they made me donate to join the guild in the first place.
Eldrich2004-11-05 17:11:53
Imperian's world-wide events and RP in general is gone. It's all about PvP, "I'm evil pheer me" and "I'm evil I shall kill thou".
When I first started playing there, there were often gem hunts, there were RP events, there were constant action. Now there's nothing, save the odd tourney every few months. They have a few good church leaders, but they need good leaders who will inspire RP with their respective realm of influence.

You mean the Hellenic/Roman Empire/Byzantine Empire/what-have-you's province of Achaea (Achaia?), or the text-muddy one?
*gets out GIGANTIC historical atlas. Nope, can't see no Ravana Hills...*
Ah.
Gotcha.
Incidentally, RP is a funny ole thing. Over the years, I think I've been most impressed by those hardy folk at EVE-online who persist in RP-ing in essentially an RP-hostile environment, despite the rich mythos of EVE --and they're good --very good, in fact.
See http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.as...threadID=109735
Imperian's ok too, as I recall. Hats off to all of 'em, I say.

Damn it, now my ideas for the actual utilization of the Dun valley volcano in Imperian are going into working order now too....if my quest gets used, I'm going to go pout and cry in a corner......

Dun Valley! Dun Castle! (Thanks for the reminder) Level Treadmill! Start at the villages, bash low-level in solo mode. Quick dash across bridge avoiding teaming mobs. A chewing of the lower lip is in order. Bash! Zap! Trigger! Offer 30 orc to (Insert a God here). Second floor, more orcs to bash but there's a nice collection of sedentary and aged orc archers easily giving 0.0003% towards level eighty. Dammit, there's competition about. Must go faster! I know! I'll miss lunch so I can...bash until the next re-pop! Life is fraught. Offer 30 ogre to (same God of course, I'm after the dizzying heights of OR4, my Lord. Reward me!). Third floor, heart thumping, hope that tattoo'll hold. Bash. Bash. Bash. Shall I do floor 4? Knights are easy-ish, but the Ogre Shaman is a sod. And there's more teamers...racy-pulses...life in the fast lane...but I'll get 0.50%! Just think! Must...bash....must....

Ridiculous, really, innit.

Quince (kola). Oh, and wood in the comm store and the animal quest.
And now, huge chunks of flaming lava. It really brings the tone of the valley down.
