I had a dream....

Subj: A bit of coal for everyone.
The merchants of the land asked from me this year a way they could track their expenditures and purchases.
The people of the lands wanting to profit from the quests they do in comms, also request a way to do so.
So I went to the best source. My elves. Together we came up with a solution: The Ledger.
From now on each time you do a commodity quest, the person you give your commodity to will, on top of the gold they give you, place their personal mark in your ledger. Turn in 5 rockeaters and get a gem-cluster. Turn in two fish and get one back. Turn in a chicken and get an egg.
At any time later you can present your ledger to the village commodity master and pick up what you are owed.
Even better, all these rewards are stored in the wholesale stock and so it does not matter if the public supply is temporarily out.
Amaze your friends and your Trade Minister by showing them your ledger so they to can see just how productive you have been!
Santa Loves You,
P.S. And you thought coal in your stocking was worthless. It was cinnabar all the time!

Sounds fun, but to alot of people, it would be one of these odd, unknown things - many ignore journals still. Maybe, a better idea, would be to have a huge ledger in each city/commune, with a page for every person. Allow any citizen to READ LEDGER PERSON to see what they've done. The personal ledger thing, though, could be done better like combat rankings? So you could do TRADE STATUS PERSON to see what they've been upto, with nice date stamps? For RP behind it, have all comm quest people belonging to a 'Trade cartel' or something.

Just seems a little unneccesary to me.

While using it as a status symbol to show your city/commune leadership was a point brought up in the advertisement, it wasn't the goal of the concept. The concept, from my viewpoint, is to allow people who work on comm quests to gain something other than gold for their work. It is for those who strive to do comm quests to increase production, only to find they cannot purchase the products because they are sold out. I think this is an excellent idea.

I just wish there was an artifact book that let you see all comm prices in all stores at any given time.
Please. Estarra.
Because I don't have the time to check every day, I actually have to have a paid position in The Black Market to do so.
