I might be mistaken, but weren't all greatrobes downgraded a lot at one point? Mine used to be really good, somewhere in the range of 46 42 and now they are like, 29 cutting, 18 blunt. Yet I just enchanted greatrobes for Merloch that had over 60 cutting. The cumulative for mine was 47, cumulative for his was 91. What's up?

Greatrobes were intended to be on par with leather armour. They were downgraded with the rest of armour at a point when it was discovered all armour was too high; check the past announce news posts related to armour. Enchantment greatrobes actually goes through the exact same code routines as forging armour. That's why you have to do repeated enchantments just like a knight swinging the hammer repeatedly.

Yeah, I understand all that. I was wondering why the new greatrobes that I enchanted seemed to have better stats (or at least on par, depending on how you look at it) as the old ones that I had that were downgraded.

Got lucky? It's all random.

Hehehe, be glad you see the end result. They're all cumulative 20 when I see them biggrin.gif

Well, I've recently enchanted two greatrobes. One before the warrior changes, one after. The first one was 61/38. Second one, enchanted some... two days ago was 76 24 if I remember correctly. Not sure what this means, just thought I'd throw out some numbers for you to work with.

It does seem to me that greatrobe defenses aren't balanced between the two types, though this could have been coincidence.

Armour tends to favour one side, but the side it favours is random.

If I might suggest, from my understanding you can't remove that enchantment from the robes. But you can(at a cost ofcourse) smelt down armour and "reroll" it. Could there be some way to do the same for robes, or perhaps change the code slightly so thier averages were alittle high to make it more fair for those of us that spend 30-40k for armour that we can't have redone if the stats suck?
