There aren't very many sigils that can be made right now and the current ones are mostly utilitarian in that they manage security. Keys, monos and flames all for city security, fists for security of your wielded items.
How about an offensive sigil like, the Node sigil. When thrown at a person, it will drain 5 to 8% of their power reserves with the amount of power drained being somewhat randomized.

or how about the flame sigil actualy doing fire damage as well?

Rock sigil! When thrown at a person, the rock sigil will do blunt damage and has a small chance of stunning your target. Not sure if I'll ever get any projectile weapons as a warrior archetype (i.e., bow and arrow), so perhaps this would be a nice substitute, especially if the damage is based on strength.

The problem with making the flame sigil do damage is that it already has a specific purpose and its not supposed to be used in combat. Suddenly changing or adding to the purpose of a wellknown and established item would be confusing, nor is there a clear need for the existing sigils to be changed.
The problem with a rock sigil as explained above is that it really isn't all that different from an actual rock.
Enchanted sigils (and I'm pulling most of this material from Achaea) are supposed to be created magically and generally do not-so-ordinary things, i.e. bring phased people back into normal reality, destroy chaos ents, dampen vibes, etc. Things that you could otherwise not easily do.

You could have like...a tremor sigil, or an eruption sigil, or what have you, that brings burrowers up to the surface. From any level. Can't normally get to those peoples, eh?

how bout a hole sigil that will suck in your enemies to do a good deal of magical damage to them?
Unknown2004-11-16 00:06:48
I don't want to see directly offensive sigils; we already have hexes, spells, ect. for that sort of thing. I like the idea of them being magical utility items that can be used by anyone.
I'd like to see a Hole-ish sigil that dumps anyone on your enemy's list deep into the ground, making them burrow back up, or perhaps something to pull them out of the ground/trees/sky. Or send them into trees/sky.
'The black disc on the ground suddenly expands, and as it spreads under your feet you realize it has become a gaping hole! You plummet helplessly into the earth, the disc contracting back to it's original form far above you.'
'Invisible wires seem to snap all around your body and yank you downward in unison, sending you tumbling from the trees!'
