I am going to be playing with a friend almost all the time, so what race/class should we each pick to either:
1. complement each others skills and abilities
or
2. double up to be an offensive workhorse
We're open to anything, no rp prereqs as we will fit our rp style into the characters we end up creating!
Many thanks!

Figure out something cool to rp, and see what races/classes fit it.

Heh, would like to...but the lusternia site is quite confusing to semi-newbs like us..we played Achaea for a few months, and that was out first MUD. I don't even quite understand race/class in Lusternia. I see Archetypes, and I guess you specialize from there into a specific class...is that right? Is there a list of classes and descriptions anywhere?
Many Thanks!
Many Thanks!

Dyr is correct, there is many different ways you can rp with Lusternia. You can be a tainted Viscanti and rp as a Nilh or do something harder and play a viscanti celestine, the choices you make is how you go by so it is up to you if you want to rp hard or rp normally but just remember to have fun!

It would be quite interesting to see an aquamancer and geomancer, and the RP you two could do with -that-.

contemplating:
aqua/geo: seems like a good mix of offensive and healing
blademaster/bonecrusher: offensive madness, but no healing or magic assistance, right?

I think people often enjoy roleplaying friends as the overprotective tae'dae, and the smaller furrikin.
However, you could do something different. Anything that you and your friend would like to roleplay using the classes and races required.

One person be a merian Aquamancer, and the other be a viscanti Nihilst.
Great way to keep a friendship

Since you are fairly new to muds in general, I'd suggest that both of you join the same faction (Serenwilde, Magnagora or Celeste). This makes it easier for you to help each other, as friends who belong to opposing factions risk coming under scrutiny. (I doubt you want the whole city to start accusing you of treason everytime you appear in the same room as your friend)
Also, you might want to consider selecting skills such that both of you can have access to complimenting tradeskills. (ie herbalist + alchemist etc)

I think knight/guardian would be interesting. Being a member of Celest, it's easiest for me to see the fun in Paladin/Celestine for offense/healing, but it could work for Magnagora.

Yeah... I'd sacrifice both...

tae'dae furrikin is great... You've got fast and small vs strong and slow. Also, you could go with a guild that allows you to have one with hexes and one with healing. Forget which one that is. possible trade skill compliments are ..
Herbalism Alchemy
Jewlery Enchantments
Arts Enchantments Herbalism
Jewlery forging
Tailoring Jewlery
Posions Herbalism

which guild would allow for one char with massive str and con to flourish, and also allow for an extremely dexterous char to do well also??? Any ideas?
I very much appreciate the help...I know, I know...I shold just start a char and rp him, but I want to make a char I am going to enjoy and stick with, so this is my pre-game routine, and I'll salute you guys when I grwo old with a character I am pleased with!

Paladin-Celestine .

i think it would be funny to rp as a gigantic igasho in the warrior spectrum, then have another play as a faeling in a mage or guardian setting. The big guy is the tank that takes all the hits and afflictions, and the harder to hit, highly dexterious little guy provides spell support, healing, and defensive measures. for example
Tae'dae= bonecrusher, knighthood, athleticsm, combat
faeling= hexes/healing or rituals, high magic, nihilism, or scraments

Tae'Dae Bonecrusher & Furrikin Blademaster
sound feasible, would a dexterous blademaster be well suited for combat? Or does the furrikin's high dex lend itself to being a caster?
Thanks!

Any warrior class will be perfect for a massive strength and dex race and you would do poorly in celestines because they are magical not strength!! *eyes thorgal*

In response to what someone said earlier, maybe I'm missing something but I think having an Aquamancer/Geomancer combination is rather counterintuitive skillswise. Demesnes really don't work together, heh. I think Celestine/Paladin would be great, though.

kinda confused...sorry....
are bonecrushers and blademasters two seperate guilds? or are they both in the Knight guild, but each specializing in a different skill set?
Just wanna make sure me and my bud can be in the same guild..so we can learn together....
thanks!
