Could a rogue spec in crafts and influence and be effective? level up? help others?

Thanks!

In theory yes, but it would be difficult. Influence takes a lot of time, and you already have to have some levels to have high enough ego to do it feasibly. As a rogue the only trade skills available to you would be Tailoring, Jewellery and Cooking. And if you chose to take Low Magic, you would also have Poisons and Herbs added to the choices.

I wonder if influence will ever be implemented into PvP?
Shiri2004-11-22 17:48:19
I doubt it, it's MEANT to be for mobs only. The only thing I could possibly see is swaying individual, er, dudes...like, lindwyrms, angels, and so forth.

It basically already is. When you run for political office, you have to persuade everyone to be loyal to you instead of the other guy! tongue.gif

HA! thanks joark, I mean ... roark. glare.gif

Well, I think playing a character I would enjoy rp'ing is more important than the success of his skills in relation to what the rest of the world is doing. Yeah, so maybe I'll miss out on some good PvP, but I may get to enjoy some other aspects of the game that most people won't...we shall see...

but for now, I'm going influencial rogue...

Thanks for the help fellas. I appreciate this place!

Rogues can pick from highmagic AND lowmagic, actually... not sure if you could use the different craft skills this got for you though, without a city's tailoring room or enchanting pentagram thingy to use. Herbs and Poisons would work, not sure about the others.

And as far as being your rougishness goes, perhaps you could consider joining a guild first for a skill like Healing or Athletics, if that wouldn't be totally against your RP?
Thorgal2004-11-22 18:04:20
You're better off passing novicehood in one of the guilds, then leaving, least then you have some skills.

Bleh, Sidharta beat me to it.

Dont think you can make any skillchoices without a guild. Join a warriors guild, take highmagic/lowmagic as you choose. Get the guildskills, and put lessons into whatever your going to use. Go rogue when your finished with novicehood.
Easy as cake.

You can - I was a rogue for a little while, changing guilds, and you have the choice between highmagic and lowmagic. I believe, from that, you'd be able to choose Enchantment if you went with Highmagic, and Poisons or Herbs if you went with lowmagic, but not Alchemy or Forging, as those are dependant on having Nature or Knighthood. What I don't know is if you can use a city's enchanting or tailoring rooms without citizenship.

I think he is a member of a Commune...since I Welcomed someone who sounded exactly like this just yesterday...so I dont think he needs to worry about that. But he is still staying without a guild.

Enchantment requires you be a cosmic guardian or mage. Lots of enchantment requires that you have a skill in Rituals or Elementalism (or also Planar and High Magic) before you can use it in enchantment. For example, until you gain the water breathing ability in Elementalism, you cannot enchant it onto an item.

I *think* can use a city's rooms if you are not a citizen, though that would be tricky if they get angry at you and brand you an enemy.

I tri-transed, transed arts and forging (and a few more), then decided for RP reasons to go rouge. I do fine.

I don't reccomend influence only.

If enchanters can use pentagrams while rogue, can You let alchemists use alembics when rogue too? Pweeeease? wub.gif
Olan2004-11-24 07:41:54
The problem, as I understand it, has nothing to do with alembic use...it is the nature of the alchemy skill requiring specific power to work. So, not entirely sure what you are looking for...given that they changed it to work like that, doubt you will see any change there.

Influence does allready have applications to PK.... CharismaticSmile anyone?

And influencing takes no longer than bashing in the right places against the right people.
