Out of curiosity, what part of a city/commune's politics affects its name? I know Magnagora just changed to a commercial structure, and I know that the number of villages under influence changes the name. Does the governance style affect it, as well?

It... Changes the name? How?

The Sovereign Republic of Magnagora
Before it was the Empire of Magnagora.

I wish I had the specific names, but they are unique to city/commune, style of government, and number of pledged villages.
I would be interesting to see a helpfile that listed each possible combination and the titles of the city leadership, perhaps even the citizenry ranks. Something like this would be impractical to tabulate independently, and I'd really enjoy knowing just to satisfy curiosity.

It's actually just changing the city prefix shown on POLITICS, HELP
Take a look at the examples Silvanus' gives.

Well, I wasn't asking for the specific name changes, Melanchthon. I was just wondering what parts of the city's (or commune's) politics changes the names, besides the number of controlled villages.

You've answered your own question, Mox. Aside from the number of pledged villages, the only variable to a city's title is its political structure (commune, religious, commercial, conquest).

No, see, I was asking if: 1) Only the governance changed it, 2) Only the structure changed it, or 3) Both changed it.
Estarra2004-11-27 22:45:32
1) Number of villages.
2) Style of governance.
3) Political type.

So, aside from the strength of the title derived from how many villages are pledged (like, Dominion --> Empire), there are twelve basic variations of city titles, and three variations for nature communes?

From what I have seen in Magnagora.
Commercial = we have been the Territories of Magnagora, and the Republic of Magnagora. Our city leader went from being Governer to Premier. Based on your less drastic style that will change the prefix to Soveirgn or whatever (not 100% on that one) Our city ranks also changed names.
So Number of villages changes the "grandness" of your city/commune changing the Leader's title. The type of governemtn changes what the city is called, like Republic or Empire, and the names of the city ranks. While the other name gives you different prefixes I think

I've been speculating as to what the Serenwilde would be called if (Somehow) they gained control of every village. The Hive of Serenwilde? The Swarm? The Brood?

You are awsome.
I can just see it:
10.2.1 SERENWILDE COMMUNE, GRACE OF THE MOONHART
Overmind: Nikua
Divine Patron: Auseklis, the First Wanderer
Top Celebrates: Alyssandra, Merloch, and Niara
Ambassador: Alyvia
That would make me laugh :thumb:
