I'm level 38, and am finding it harder and harder to gain experience; up until now i've leveled by killing rockeaters, mooses, and returning pilgrims. These are still good exp for me, but it seems like far more people have discovered this, and now I am very lucky to find a single moose/rockeater on a walk around the entire mountain range (All 3-4 of 'em). Pilgrims are also too scant to be worth much.

So are there any areas besides these that are decent bashing, and where I can also make some money? Because I currently have... 100 gold, total, and us Tae'dae are pretty big eaters. Note that my overall po'ness means I can't afford to buy any cures for afflictions, and I only have Virtuoso knighthood.
Daganev2004-11-25 22:03:35
I have bashed the sewers since forever.
Unknown2004-11-25 22:10:18
Heh, I'm exactly the same as you, Guido. Almost at level 40, still sucking up the exp from pilgrims and rockeaters and commodity quests, with Tae'dae level 3 experience gain disadvantage.

If you have a mending vial - go bash starsuckers on Water. I tried once, but I didn't have a mending vial and I had to swim away with 10hp left, then wait until someone with healing could come and help me.

EDIT: The only reason I got to such a low health was because I forgot I could swim with broken legs so I sat there desperately trying to keep a shield up long enough for me to figure out what to do.

EDIT 2: Also, enter Oleaniver Valley, and wait for the giant roc to fly over. Let it take you to its nest, and KEEL THE BABBIES. They give minimal exp, but it's fun. tongue.gif

Mmm, how would I get to water? If it involves passing though the Ethereal it's a no-go. I don't know about reaching the Sewers either; I know you needed a certain skill to do it in Achaea.

Edit- I am unable to swim, so I would need to get some sort of enchantment for that. Once again, i'm a po' little Tae'dae.
Daganev2004-11-25 22:40:06
Your a tae'dae... beg if your poor.

we have 16 charisma for a reason.
Melanchthon2004-11-26 00:39:43
I have to second Daganev, the sewers were great hunting for me, though the gold was minimal. I was hunting them right into my early sixties, and I know a few who successfully took them past that. The Balach swamp was another favorite of mine.
Kharvik2004-11-26 02:22:01
I've bashed my way up to level 60 purely from the Glomdoring. Just make sure you have mending if you're going to go there.

You could get an aquamancer or Celestine to take you, they don't have to go through Ethereal I believe.
Xavius2004-11-26 07:27:48
OOC advice is one thing, but Guido's as likely to be escorted to the Water Plane by a Celestine as he is to he escorted to the Astral Plane and left to die.
Unknown2004-11-26 17:11:50
Actually, no Celestians have ever really shown any aggression or hostility towards me. It might be tough to find one willing to help like that, but some of them are quite warm towards me.
Val2004-11-27 13:16:54
Seems like your major problem is you've pissed off all the groups that you need to get to the better bashing places.
Richter2004-11-27 19:13:48
I'd disagree.
Unknown2004-11-27 19:14:34
Are you enemied to Magnagora? If not, go to their villages and do quests. Commodity quests seem like they don't pay much, but 50 gold for each dead cow adds up when you travel the highway and kill twenty of 'em. Bringing in live cows and sheep also really adds up in terms of profit, when you bring in groups of four or five, over and over - and don't forget chickens! When you're bored of that, try the larger quests in each village, they pay out a fair bit and can be repeated (if you're lucky) for a fair chunk of gold, and some experience.

Of course, it's easier if you're not enemied to any city at all... then you can do the Dairuchi and Estelbar quests too happy.gif

If you can go to the Water Plane and survive long enough to bash, then you can also take the Inner Sea. Anemones are relatively easy, provided you have liniment on hand. They do suck your power, though, and can entangle you. Octopi are a bit harder, unless you have sufficient armor and health. I have a bit over 2000 health, but they can take me down to about 400 health (without sips and without armor). Picking up seashells and giving them to kelpies is great for some quick money (it's 50 per seashell, but every third seashell to the same kelpie gets you a seashell necklace and no gold). There are marine rockeaters down there, too, which you can give to various people for gold. If you have a mage friend, get reflections, and might be able to fight sharks, even at your level.
Unknown2004-11-29 03:36:39
Actually, i'm enemied to the Kelpies happy.gif Val may be onto something. I've managed to somehow slaughter vast numbers of Rockeaters lately- indeed, the very mountains ring out with their tortured screams- and some of the advice is helping. Thanks, everyone!

Val2004-11-29 16:44:02
Abhorrences don't break shield, they ignore it. So they suck, alot. And they don't knockdown, they limb break.

Virgins, THEY'RE ALL MINE, I mean blackout + fear, and huge bleed.

Parasites also wed/paralyse
Unknown2004-11-29 17:21:09
I hope they don't wed me.
Val2004-11-29 17:52:44
Ok, I just cracked up laughing after seeing my typo....I think I'll leave it.
