Achaea has the Bardic/Artisanal contests for credit prizes, and I noticed that there is space for the helpfile in Lusternia but it says TBA.

Does this mean that Lusternia will also have these contests? Will they be the same or completely different? Or not at all?

Just curious...

I hope to one day to start a bardic/artisanal contest but our hands are pretty full right now. I'll tentatively say beginning of next year.

However, right now, we do have a map contest going!

Thank you Estarra! biggrin.gif Good to hear.

And I saw that about the mapping contest. I've never been much of a mapper, but I think I'm gonna try for it anyway.

Here's a hint for you new mappers that I just found out: when mapping something that has rings around it (Magnagora, the Mountains, Celest), start from the inside, and work your way out. I mapped all around Magnagora, and am now having trouble squeezing everything in. Better yet, use something cool that will automatically stretch the lines you use to connect each room when you move the rooms around.

If you have a Mac, I'd try OmniGraffle.

What's a good Windows mapper? I can't find any.

I used Zmapper quite effectively, until I found out that Photoshop does not recognize .mdb files.. so I gave up. My Nil map looked really cool, it had sweet colors and sweet text style, and was just overall -> :thumb:

At the risk of doing myself out of a prize, you can use print scrn to take a screenshot...

*jig* Why wait for, a world bardic contest? I'm running one for Serenwilde right now. Can't do pictures or anything, but people are submitting some impressive stuff.

Nice! Be sure to post the winners on here on the forums! I'm sure many of us would like to see some Lusternian art work! (Okay, well me.)

While Photoshop won't recognize a Map DataBase (.mdb), Excell will. I'm sure they won't mind if you just send in a screenshot of a spread sheet with room names and a bunch of numbers.

Nooooo, my precious darling Magnagora map is going to have competition!

I actually drew mine out by hand...yeah. I drew it out by hand first, so I had it all planned out on how it would fit and tried to draw it relatively proportional and what not. Then I opened up photoshop, used the pencil to draw a box, created a grid the size of the box and went from there, drawing in all the lines inbetween and labeling and such. The only thing I couldn't fit was the labyrinth and ur'guard guildhall, which I stuck out on the side :/.
