So who likes to use their journals? I love the RP aspect of it and use it as such, but also use it for IC recordkeeping as well.

How many of you use your journals? and what specifically for?

Mainly just for jotting things down, such as IC thoughts and ideas.. And of course as a record for my Essays.

I write stuff in it for IC use. Like essays (1 so far ).
I don't see their use for jotting down notes, because it takes so long to write in them (gotta heal up and such). I would just as soon write in a .txt file or on a scrap of paper.

I use my regular journal for clothes designs .. and I get to use my order journal for essays and recording my progress in the Disciplines >.>

I just jot down my IC thoughts on what is happening in Serenwilde and the Basin as a whole.

One of Laneth's first entries was a moral problem about killing gnomes. He got over it .

Ellara uses her journal to rant.

Unfortunately, I Ciphered it into the Necromancy specialization, so I can only read it when I'm actually writing an entry. Ah well.

daganev can't read or write, so my journal entries tend to be made up of stuff like this.

I easily have 100 text files in my Lusternia folder, not counting logs I haven't cleaned and categorized yet.

My journal is for writing down information I need to run my shops.

Example:
Added a bunch more crud to the Celest shop, paid crud supplier for stuff that had sold before. In stock: 5 crudcakes for 200 per, and 2 crudlets for 2300 per. Got to love consignment, it's free money for me. Whee!

I use my journal for writing personal IC thoughts and personal IC important events.

I use my journal for wasting my time by giving it to people when I meant to return their own journal to them. >.<

At the moment I use .txt files to write things down, then copy them into my journal. So far I have all my guild stuff setup along with a poem or two.

I'm working on a "slow decent into madness" via personal posts in my journal which get progressively more insane. *hums*

I use it like a diary, recounting my gradual rememberance of my life. It's got stuff in there like when I first passed through the portal, when I remembered my surname, when I spoke to Lisaera, when I went to Skarch for the first time, when I bought Beaky, when Beaky died, etc.

And since Cronus is going to gradually get better as speaking common and writing common, it will come through in his journal.

I use my journal to keep tailoring designs, rituals, and all other sorts of notes and such that I find interesting or useful. Although, I might use if later to record major events, such as if I remember who my sibling is or something. I like my journal, although I still want a nice book, yep.

I use the journal for things I'll want to share, essays and stuff, and for copying down letters people send me that I want to save.

Then my MUD client (rapscallion) has a notepad that I have about a billion files on. I write all of my posts, help scrolls, etc. there to proofread and such. I also use it for keeping track of things like what herbs I need and other quick reference things like that. Either that or I write things down manually on paper.

Heheh. I use mine to jot down poems I've writen as well as things I've learned about Venoms. I titled my journal 'Venoms and their Uses in Everyday Life.'. Obsessed much? *g*

As of now I have yet to use my journal but almost every single one I have had in any game I have filled to the brim. In imperian I had about 7 of them.

They end up getting filled with everything from divine analysis to philosophy, and inevitably one or two gets filled into a time encyclopedia which is the histories from the website and all the events that follow with or without special commentary Im nuts, Im aware.

By the by... is there a skill in the game to -make- journals?

I don't think there is yet.
