Who's idea was it to put 'Sapling' as a guild novice prefix? Its already been done people why don't you think of something original without defacing another game in the process. Lusternia does not equal Achaea in fact its horribly obvious and just sad.

I read some of the Druids ghelp files awhile back and they honestly don't seem to line up with History at all. I mean dryads? Awen? Please. Demeter should file a lawsuit against you. It was horrible to begin with.
Richter2004-12-08 05:52:22
Ack, that was ugly in Aetolia, naming them after trees.

Unless, of course, I was named Big Wood Richter, Might of Oaks. That'd be okay.
Qaletaqa2004-12-08 05:57:45
Or Big Acorn Richter. Man nuts are sooo funny.
Nementh2004-12-08 05:57:48
better the Lil' Acorn...

Heh, that was Eldril using Achaean ideals and helpfiles and copying them into Lusternia, tho he's shrubbed now I think, apparently the new GM didn't feel like changing the files yet.

Eldrich, and yes, I wasn't in the guild when he was Admin, but looking back at the scrolls, it seems like he took it upon himself to make up all of the guild's RP. And as for changing the files, we're still learning about the guild, the only reason we have THAT many help files, is because they didn't come from the game.

Actually, speaking of that, I noticed a lot of similarities in the Moondancers and Arboreals secretary help scroll. I haven't been in the guild for a long time, so they could have changed it by now.

And my issue with "Sapling" is that it is the title of GR1 in the guild. Kinda...not smart to me.

Bad Eldrich.

By the way, do you mean cliches? A clique is a small group of people who share the same interest.
Shiri2004-12-08 16:38:54
A clique is also used in a sort of derogatory (that's not the word, but I can't think of the right one) sense for people who others feel are excluding people so that they can have their own little subculture. You know, different in the same way. Either definition applies perfectly well to what Qaletaqa was saying - he means that the forestals from other games have all banded together again and shoved any new RP out the window by sticking to the RP styles they as a group made up in all the other IRE games.

I'll trust you this time, Shiri. happy.gif

Muaha. Step two of my plan is complete! Now all I have to do is fool Daganev, and the top 3 posters will be mi-...er, hi! Didn't see you there! *cough*

When I was the Guildmaster in Hartstone, I'd often log in to find several new ghelps that I hadn't seen until then, and have to delete them. One, in fact, prohibited combat entirely, saying that "this is the most set in stone law that we have"

Needless to say, it didn't last long.
Unknown2004-12-08 17:48:56
Could always call them "Baby Droodles" instead...

You'll never have me!

I know, but I swear if it kills me I'm going to be the 3rd person to trans, and then stick it in my sig like an honours line. *hide*

EDIT: And just so it looks like I have a valid point to make, I'm going to say that it does annoy me when I see Saplings...but hey, at least they don't have Ward of the Oak. Because, you know, there's no reason not to from an IC perspective. Or Ward of the Moonhart at least.

Whoever decided to make Hartstone a clone of the Achaean Druids deserves to have one of their fingers broken and not reset properly so they can't touch-type. Hartstone is nothing like the Druids, nor are they the Sentinels, Sylvans or Oakstone. People with the mindset that all forestal guilds are alike, "omg must protect trees and plants *stab overharvesters*", ruined a totally interesting storyline.

edit: Okay, so they didn't ruin it completely, but (some) people seem to be ignoring the fact that the Serenwilde is far different to Achaea's forestal organizations, and Lusternia's history in general, in order to basically carry over their forestal RP. Though, they seem to be drowned out by the political - and other - conflicts going on in the Serenwilde commune... wacko.gif Is that a good thing? I don't know.
Shiri2004-12-08 19:35:19
It certainly makes me glad we have Auseklis, amongst others, telling that herbalist commune to basically, "Okay, just try it, busta." tongue.gif That certainly shut them up for a while.
Unknown2004-12-08 20:36:16
I really hope the Sapling title is removed, and we have something original Lusternian put in.

That was one of the best public posts I have ever seen, in any game.
Shiri2004-12-08 22:50:14
Yeah, it was. I'm undecided as to whether it comes before or after Sarapis' old "No molesting the sheep. This means you Harlequin." post, or whatever it was. cool.gif

Our little herbalist/alchemist clan is doing better now. We have "guidelines" instead of "rules," and we use the clan as a way to work together. Herbalists organize replanting sometimes, and some alchemists favor the herbalist members when looking to make a purchase.

Sapling didn't necessarily come from Achaea, though. I mean, we have saplings in the Serenwilde, so it's not like it's OOC or anything. What would you rather call them, anyway? Junior Woodchucks?
