What about forgers/tailors being able to make, say, spiked gauntlets and steel toed boots? Make them increase damage on kicks and punches? I'd like to see them, for RP's sake at least.

I was just reading The Lone Drow, and Urlgen's spiked gauntlets gave me that idea. Oh, and his helm made him do more damage in a headslam too.

If monks get introduced here, I hope they are radically different from the other IRE monks, because after the 22 million monk guilds in existence the theme got worn really fast (it doesnt help that Achaea has five of the damned things).

Punching you with a gauntlet hurts more than fists. And I didn't say raise the damage a Lot, maybe double a punch. Which is like 50 to 100 now, heh.
