As the first part of a series of discussions on Gods, let's start with Elder Gods.
Don't talk about the Fain, Raezon, Lacostian, Isune, Terentia, Auseklis, Lisaera, or Roark. Talk about what you want to see when our Ephemerals graduate. What Elder Gods do you want to see? Spill, fill, elaborate.

Well, we don't really know much about the choices. Most of the Elder God names we know, (i.e Meridian), won't be coming, because they fragmented themselves.
I vaguely remember there being mention of a few non-fragmented Elder Gods, (as in, their names were told in the histories briefly). I can't find their names, but it would be good if they would find the Beacon sooner rather than making up new names.
I don't think there's any Divine I would want that would have anything to do with Cronus. Even if a bunch of cool Elder Gods come along, Cronus will remain loyal to Auseklis and the way of the Wanderer.
I just hope that when thinking of what realms and personalities new Elder Gods have, we get original ones. I would also like a God if Insanity - maybe a new comrade for Fain and Raezon. (Yeah, I think it's already been done in Imperian, but I only played that once. Stuff that.)

Isune's pretty insane.
There are a fair few other named elder gods, although I'm not sure whether any have ever been mentioned to mortals... we might have talked about a few when Terentia came back?

There was one God someone mentioned beginning with P, I think. Reminded me of a Penguin.

Aww, She's not insane, just a little...er...abs...okay, well, she is insane. She's still awesome though.

There's a few unique ones I'd like to see but... to this day I have never seen one person do it right so I've given up trying to find em heh.

Id like to see a great rite in which an elder god is defragmented...*cackle*
Faethan2004-12-11 19:57:26
I would like to see a militantly anti-city forest God/Godess. I think there could be some interesting conflict between them and the more restrained Auseklis. (Not saying that Auseklis isn't anti-city, he just seems to not want to act against them until a good opportunity presents itself)
Unknown2004-12-11 20:00:21
Actually, that would be interesting. Auseklis hates cities, but he doesn't act against them. I don't know how Lisaera feels towards them. An aggresive anti-city Deity would help reinforce the anti-urban beliefs that Serenwilde is SUPPOSED to possess.
Maybe Auseklis' Beard-God will fall off and introduce himself as Lord Beardy, Hater of Cities.

Shiri2004-12-11 20:03:47
Now that WOULD be interesting. Where Celest gets Terentia, and Magnagora gets Fain (I think, not too sure there), Serenwilde would get Fuzzma. Might help make the conflicts more obvious, that's for sure.

Or maybe the beard's making me passive..
Gah! No more beard posts.

A secretive, sneaky-type God who isn't aligned with the Taint.
He (She?) can patron the new el Bandito guild.
Or just Someone for the Illuminati, and stuff.

Simple to start, but it'll take too long...
Oh wait... defragmenting -Elder Gods-...
*closes Norton Speed Disk*
Heh. I'm going 'way now.
Y'know, I've always wondered what would happen if there was a God of Laziness. Then he'd have an order... the top rank would be charged with sitting around and doing nothing the whole time you were in the Realms, then occasionally asking for food and whining about things in general.
Unknown2004-12-12 17:08:20
A God of Lethargy would be unique and interesting. I'm not objecting. Although I'm not sure if he would attract many followers.
Here's a list:
God of Wine and Lethargy
Goat-Headed God of Music
God of Strength, Power and Invincibility
God of Insanity
Goddess of Chance and Gambling, (Lady Luck!)

I'm shooting for fragmentation of myself into several smaller pieces that are more specialized yet recognizably part of the whole. Then, no one can really say I'm doing anything or something because it would conflict with what I'm truly doing as another one of me is doing something completely seperate from what another is doing. The end result being mass confusion, little elder Gods running around, and I take over the world.
Hazar2004-12-13 06:27:35
I must say, this whole Beard of Auseklis routine is getting entertaining as it matures.
Lady Luck would be -perfect-. You'd just need to see that the player behind the goddess didn't overdo it.
What about...say...a god of cities? You could frame him as a god of technology/magic, conflict with Auseklis, Lisaera, and possibly Raezon and Lacostian - I'm thinking he'd be fifth circle.
Oh, wait - that's Roark. Why can't you have an order?!?
Please?

Bah, read his book and you'll know why. Of course, that doesn't stop people from deciding on their own that they're in it...
And who gets to dip Raezon in the liquid nitrogen to help prepare for His fragmentation? C'mon, that'd be so awesome.

Yeah, I'm reading his book. It's big! And whatever reason he gives isn't enough for me to stop asking.

If you don't want to read the whole book, skip to the last page.
