"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their
exits and their entrances" ~ Shakespear

An interesting little concept I cooked up. Im considering creating a group of players (by players, yes this is OOC) who are interested and willing in getting together as a group and cooperating OOCly in a little stagecraft. Its purpose is to provide an OOC group to support IC roleplay and character events, et cetera. Need some assistance with your familial roleplay? A rougishly handsome yet irritatingly evil nemesis? A bit of foreshadowing for your personal plots?

This group would exist to support such. The IC actions of all within must of course remain consistant with the roles of all characters involved. It would by necessity be a bit give and take, as not everyone is lucky all the time, and the best fun with a character is when things get sticky.

'Tis but an interesting thought. Those who are interested in it, send me a PM here in the forums. Only hardcore roleplayers need apply. (Those who are consistantly striving to meet IC goals, not just kill baddies and get mad lewt.)

I don't get it.

I've actually thought of this before, but so far, all the RP I did was assisted by the Divine, and random people I pulled from in the game (ic) or on msn (ooc, to be ic).

The main point being to give a little nudge to coincidence. The metaphorical equivilent to bumping into someone on the street on accident, but giving the process a little nudge by making sure you are both on the same sidewalk and heading in opposite directions.

Damn, I thought you were going to suggest an IC clan devoted to roleplaying - roleplaying within roleplaying, geddit? Celest's citizens pretending to be Tainted ones, Magnagorans acting out the role of the pious Supernals, and Serens as, uh... lumberjacks!
Unknown2004-12-12 17:00:50
If that was the case, you'd have everyone looking like idiots on-stage, in an attempt to make the other side look bad. Well, not everyone, but some.

On a different topic: it would be cool to have an IC version of LAG (hehe, that sounds funny). Anyone interested? I would end up making an ad or somthing, but then we could perform plays and such, and it would be nifty. For the more artsy people out there....

Well, I have been entertaining the idea of suggesting that Magnagora construct an opera house...though this is probably a lost cause until the arena fund is completed. Mary fancies herself a playwright, after all.

I'd love to see a thespians' group in the game!

Gonna have to say that although the idea of an IC group of thespians sounds wonderful, I doubt the Governing Councils of Celest, Serenwilde or Magnagora would be willing to fund such a venture (or at least not until they have substantially larger funds and fewer worries than they have currently). So it'd have to be an unofficial thing (maybe a clan?). Nontheless, I'm all for it!

When I read all this I can only say....meh, are you bored!
Unknown2004-12-13 20:16:38
Niara, I read yours and I say... Meh!

As for anyone who is interested, check the ads... ad 57 in paticular.
Eldril2004-12-13 20:37:22
I am in favour of this only because now when idiots ask
"Is anyone experiencing lag?"
it's mildly easier to dismiss it as some sort of existential advertisement for a clan, rather than the flagrant OOC it is:
"Don't those actors ever quit??"

Have you experienced lag yet? blink.gif
Shamarah2004-12-13 20:54:15
But Eldril, this proposed group is OOC.
Unknown2004-12-13 20:56:15
Erm, not mine.
Eldril2004-12-13 21:05:43
Right, the second one, the in-game one. biggrin.gif For the other thing, planned roleplay doesn't do it for me, but I've got nothing against it (if done well).
Iridiel2004-12-14 18:13:13
I've love to see some kind of bardic agrupation in Lusternia, for all those of us who doesn't have artistic gifts but enjoy a good play.
Unknown2004-12-14 23:45:11
*bump*
Iridiel, check my ad in that case... 59 I think, anyway, its the ad by Dyr.
Richter2004-12-14 23:53:16
An ooc group would be cool.

Now if only the Charites would approve my weapon, I can get on with Richter's story.
