As many of you may remember from the Lusternia MSN Group, Estarra asked for ideas for new emotes as a little icing on the cake and a way to differentiate ourselves (and prove our superiority, of course) from the other IRE games.

I've decided to give you the opportunity to design the Lusternian emotes of tomorrow once again! If you want to contribute an emote, please post it in this thread with the following viewpoints:

1st person untargetted - What the person who is doing the emote will see when they do not target the emote at anyone/thing.

3rd person untargetted - What everyone else in the room will see when the doer of the emote does not target anyone/thing specifically.

1st person targetted - What the person who is doing the emote will see when they target it at someone/thing.

2nd person - What the object of the emote will see.

3rd person targetted - What everyone else in the room will see when the doer of the emote targets someone/thing else.

Also, feel free to post refinements, nobody gets it perfect the first time!

Shun: SHUN or SHUN

First person, no target - Yess, they won't intrude. Not anymore..

First person, target - Meaningfully looking away from Bob, you begin to shun him entirely.

Third person watching, no target - Flow hunches her shoulders, clearly seeking to exclude the world from her thoughts.

Victim - Flow turns away from you, and continues as if nothing has changed. However, you realise that you have been shunned!

Third person watching, target - Flow turns away from Bob, the meaning clear that in her opinion, he is no longer there.

CROW (no, no, no, not the totem)

1P(un) You crow with harsh, mean-spirited laughter.
3P(un) Person crows with harsh, mean-spirited laughter.

1P(t) You crow raucously at Target, assaulting them with your mean-spirited laugh.
2P(t) Person crows raucously at you, assaulting you with his/her mean-spirited laugh.
3P(t) Person crows raucously at Target, assaulting them with a mean-spirited laugh.

PREEN

1P(un) You preen, satisfied with yourself.
3P(un) Person preens, clearly proud of themselves.

BELLOW

Before I add anything, the first person to post poledance will get kicked in the respective naughty bits.

Handkiss: HANDKISS or HANDKISS

First-person untargetted: Summoning your courage, you place a kiss on your own fist for luck.

Third-person untargetted: Gulping nervously, Eldril plants a kiss on his own fist.

First-person targetted: In a display of proper conduct, you kneel and greet Lisaera with a kiss upon the hand.

Second-person: Eldril kneels gallantly and greets you with a kiss upon the hand.

Third-person targetted: Eldril gently takes Isune's hand before kneelng and kissing it softly.

HAIL

First person no target - You loudly exclaim, "Hail!"
Third person untargeted - Cronus loudly exclaims, "Hail!"
First person target - You respectfully exclaim "Hail!" at Bob.
Second person - Cronus loudly exclaims, "Hail!" at you, as a sign of respect.
Third person targetted - Cronus respectfully exclaims "Hail!" at Bob.

And another:

Ward: WARD or WARD

First-person untargetted: Crossing your arms resolutely, you attune your senses for approaching danger.

Third-person untargetted: Eldril folds his arms across his chest, surveying the scene for danger.

First-person targetted: You move to stand before Fain, valiantly shielding Him from harm.

Second-person: Eldril boldly steps in front of you, warding off danger.

Third-person targetted: Eldril positions himself in front of Auskelis, prepared to ward off danger.

Calculate: CALCULATE

First-person untargetted: The world fades away as you begin to work at the numbers in your mind.

Third-person untargetted: Eldril's eyes roll back as he begins muttering and counting on his fingers


For working out those complicated trades, how many diamond necklaces for a single ham sandwich, that sort of thing. No targetted version, unless someone thinks there ought to be one.

Shiri looks appraisingly at you, muttering as he calculates his odds.

GODSDAMN

1st person untargetted - "Godsdamn!" you exclaim.

3rd person untargetted - (PERSON 1) exclaims "Godsdamn!"

1st person targetted - "Godsdamn!" you exclaim to (PERSON 2).

2nd person - (PERSON 1) exclaims "Godsdamn!" at you.

3rd person targetted - (PERSON 1) exclaims "Godsdamn!" to (PERSON 2).

Being as I am not familiar with the variables Rapture uses, I'm just using notation from another Mud. $n = a persons name, $heshe/$hisher/whatever puts in the correct choice of those two for the person. Uncapitalized = doer, capitalized = target.

The last two are designed to be racial only emotes (Guess which race! Hehe)

Tenderlick

target1st - You lick $N tenderly on $HISHER cheek.\\n
target2nd - $n licks you tenderly on your cheek.\\n
target3rd - $n licks $N tenderly on $HISHER cheek.\\n

I don't really care if the words are changed or anything, I just would love for there to be a laugh that is higher then usual, but not a giggle.

I just aliased mine to the trillingly melodic laugh. Which doesn't help people mistaking me for a girl, but eh, that's the cost you pay for sounding like a proper Furrikin...

ARROGANT

1st person untargetted - You tilt back your head and survey your surroundings arrogantly.

3rd person untargetted - Guido tilts back his head and eyes his surroundings in distaste.

1st person targetted - You cast an arrogant glare at Nikua, belittling his inferior intellect.

2nd person - Guido locks his eyes onto yours, head tilting arrogantly and lip curled back in disgust.

3rd person targetted - Guido locks Nikua within his arrogant gaze, face contorted in thinly veiled disgust.
