Haven't fully worked it out. I wanted to get some opinions on the general sense before I continue.

The idea I have is that of a barbaric class I like to call the Gorgers. They are a nomadic group forged from the hardships of an ever roaming life. Over the thousands of years, the Gorgers developed an affinity to blood that allowed them manipulate the world around them.

Warfare - The Gorger art of war. Fighting in it's deadliest form.
Metabolism - The altering of the bodies processes to do anything from heal the sick to empower to weak.
Bloodcraft - The blood of thy enemy is the fuel for thy soul.

Tell me what you think. The only problem I'm seeing with this besides that I need to develop it further is that the guild would be homeless, or would require a more neutral place.

"One by one we fall in line.
Rip the flesh from their spines.
Take their hearts and take their blood.
Leave the bodies in the mud" - Gorger Creed

Erm, Guild and city. If they wandered, they would not be part of one, and therfor, not get power. Its too much of a centralized theme of lusternia to be ingnored...
Metabolism sounds like discipline, too.
Other than that, its good.

You could rp an event, where, you and your nomads found a ruins from an anicent city which was destroy by the soulless inside was a nexus of power that was still working. it could be in the desert or something

Blood-drinking is so boring. Eat the hearts or brains or marrow of your enemies instead, otherwise it's just another pseudo-vampire group.

Before we add the exotics, I think we need to add the basic spies and and the rest first.

I sooo want to be a dashing, urban, Robin Hood style pickpocket/thief/archer/disguise artist. sad.gif

Like me, but official. happy.gif

Two words:

Assassin...Archetype

My two favorate classes of all time, Occultists and Snakes.

I think they need to slowly make a new class for each city/commune first. If they implemented this, it'd be Warrior.

I hear ya, loud and clear. Idras rocked too (apart from the part where they sucked).

Illusions is cool and all (like you wouldn't believe) but it's just not the same as a genuine sneaky-sneak-sneak class. I can appreciate that Lusternia is trying to do things differently to Achaea and Imperian, and that other one, but that surely doesn't require abandoning the 'rogue' class entirely? sad.gif

Unfortunately the closest thing I can see in the histories is the Illuminati, but they look to have been either a mage guild or a guardian-type one. Mages would be... well, mages, and a sneaky type of guardian would be similar to Occultists, which would be cool I guess, but still not quite the same as the dashing thief (or swashbuckleresque) archetype.
Unknown2004-12-14 13:01:31
Illuminati are Guardians of Gaudiguch, I believe.
Shiri2004-12-14 13:10:59
Actually, I thought it'd be neat if Gaudiguch and Hallifax "guardians" would be a lot different to Celestines/Nihilists, maybe sans rituals and cosmic, even.

Also, metabolism sounds too much like athletics for me. What I'm hoping for is some internal-power type thing with, I dunno, telekinesis. Or something. I'm also hoping that if there IS a spy type thing, they actually have a more, eh, clairsentient focus as opposed to subterfuge. Whips and dirks and the rest of it are cool and all, but hey, we have illusions, why not expand on some REAL spying while we're at it? Remote listening...high-accuracy spatial location perception...it'd be fun!
Flow2004-12-15 05:10:38
Telepathy, telekinesis, knifeplay. Go spies!

What I really would like, though, is some sort of (Bio?)Thaumaturgy, as per China Miéville's Perdido Street Station. That was cool

Heh, as well as untrackable and unstoppable. ermm.gif But it does sound cool.
Shiri2004-12-15 19:05:36
Well, I'm sure one of them thar bell tattoos could be fixed, and maybe something added (illusions?) to stop some forms of remote scrying. You gotta point, though. But there must be ways around it! Besides which, it wouldn't be that useful in a combat sense...after all, you can't "stop" tailoring, and people can wear greatrobes which affect combat...
Shamarah2004-12-15 20:32:29
That'd probably go in Dreamwalking, if anything (assuming Dreamwalking actually gets made).
Shiri2004-12-15 20:40:22
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about that. Awesome cool. happy.gif Forget clairsentience then, make it the stuff of dream and nightmare!

How would one go about finding natural nodes, out of curiosity? Would it take, a physical, mental or spiritual connection to find such things? If I could ever get the class up, I'd want them to be able to be "Assassins" the problem is that I'm trying to remedy in the "Spy/Assassin/Thief" idea is what sort of combat would it use. Obviously the idea is to avoid straightforward combat, but if it came to that, how you make it viable. I'm thinking the ideal weapon for be a small sword, say, a scimitar, sabre type weapon, and a small dagger, or just two daggers. While not much with straightforward attacks like Blademastery could be made, less forward attacks like backstabs and such could be performed.
