Does Charisma only alter the amount of ego you have? Or how much 'damage' your Influence abilities do as well?

It is supposed to help you influence better (that's why people who go influencing try to get its charisma augmented). At least, that's what I understood of the explanations and tests.

Does anyone know if charisma really affects village influencing at all? I've heard that cityrank is the only thing that has any effect

There is a sixth form of ego battle that is not dependent on your skill in influence, but rather your rank in a city or commune.....

I think that pretty clearly states that instead of your skillrank, it uses your cityrank. Which would imply anything else that effects it, such as charisma and clothing still do.

Actually, city rank isn't all that matter in village influencing. I was inept and couldn't influence anything, then, in the middle of the season, I stole Ibaesha and learned up to superego, after that I could influence the unnamed villagers in about 30 seconds per.

Yep, files aren't clear though. I'm still not sure as to whether what AB PLANAR says about broadcast's listening power is just confusingly worded or an actual bug.
