For those of you who read me complaining about my lag, it wasn't what I thought.
It's my router.
Normally, connection is this: ISP---Cable Modem---Router---Computers
And this makes Lusternia a very laggy and inconsistent place. (and I tested Aetolia, Achaea, Imperian, too.)

So, failing all else, I tried this.
ISP---Cable Modem---Computer.
No router, and it logs in through the Bigpond login software.
And Lusternia runs as though it was based on my own system. Perfecto.

Anyone have any idea if there is some config I could change with the router to be able to have this normally, without having to disconnect my roommates from the internet? biggrin.gif

I though it might be a port problem, maybe it had something to do with the firewall on my router blocking ports.. but then wouldn't it stop Lusternia running altogether?
Much appreciated to any who can help smile.gif

Oh, and I called tech support. doh.gif Useless...

PS: If the Nihilists ever need a new Demon Lord on Nil to keep things moving...
PACT ROUTER
Forming a pact with this hideous abomination will give your minions the ability to frustrate and demoralise your enemies to a great degree, assuring you victory in combat.

I would try opening the ports manually in the router port 23 especially. Also your router might be using some sort of proxy server which is redirecting traffic around the world before it gets to you. What are your download speeds like with the router vs non router?

See if the router has any firmware upgrades. Most likely it is not a problem intrinsic upon the exitence of a router, but something with your specific model of router. What brand and model is it?

Daganev - tried port triggering/forwarding, didn't seem to make a difference.
And I checked traces both with and without the router - same connection route.

Model is: WGT624 v2

Tried upgrading firmware before, but it didn't find any/couldn't install any updates.

Something odd I discovered - if I set the router config to 'doesn't require a login' (which means it doesn't have user login/password) it will work fine as per the situation without the router - even through restarting modem, router and PC - but then it lost the connection completely after about 20 minutes, and I had to set it back to 'requires a login' and put in the login details
That one really puzzled me wacko.gif

That's wireless. Maybe there is some interferance. Try using a different broadcast channel.

Search google for WGT624 resetting (instead of "disconnecting") and you will gets a whole bunch of hits in various tech forums. Browse through those.
