Musical Satanic Messages

Okay, so I recently got myself a nifty little program that allows me to mess around with mp3s, and do a whole variety of sound editing features, and I was quite bored. So I'm thinking, and it suddenly struck me, "Now I can finally play all those songs backwards, and see if there really are Satanic messages hidden in them".

After reversing and subsequently listening to every Iron Maiden and Megadeth song I own, I was thouroughly disappointed to learn that I could find no hidden messages sad.gif

Just for novelties sake I also reversed all the Led Zepplin and Def Leppard I could find, with similarly disappointing results.

It doesn't even sound good in reverse, though experimentation has taught me that both KMFDM and Rammstein sound good in reverse (And German sounds -especially- sinister when spoken backwards by Till)

It would be way too hard to put any coherant message that sounds good both played fowards and backwards.

Try the spice girls.

Reminds me of when John Safran (Who's an aussie guy who does these really strange but funny TV shows) memorised certain Black Sabbath lyrics backwards and was running around the city spouting them at random people to see if it made them suicidal (Which was the claim of some group or other). Needless to say, it was just a bunch of gibberish backwards roflmao.gif.

That episode of John Safran was actually what inspired me to do this *grin* The first song I reversed was the same one he did in the show.

I've also been doing other crazy stuff...like playing songs at *2 speed or reversing only the right stereo track and having the left run forwards, or combinations of these...hehe.

Or delaying each side of the stereo sound by a second.

I love my new toy *daydream*

Mmmm, heavy metal...and Rammstein, I actually have their new CD sitting on my desk in front of me here at work. *g*

*sings* Reise reise, seemann reise, jeder tut's auf seine Weise, Der eine stoesst den Speer zum Mann, Der andere zum Fische dann.

(Pardon the lack of umlauts and the double S symbol (for which I forget the name) as I am on a plain American keyboard and am not going to try and remember the alt codes for those!)

Wasn't there a Beatles song that said "Paul is Dead"? And it was on the Abbey Road album, where Paul was conspicuously the only barefoot person on the cover. I heard that when he found out about the rumour that he actually stayed out of the public eye for a while to help fan the flames...

I thought it was seargant peppers lonely heart club band where is says paul is dead... heard the song in camp.. none of us kiddies heard "paul was dead" we heard.. "pawww deaaee" or something..

But I got a clip from stairway to heaven where at some point the word Satan can be heard if cut properly.

More details on the Mysteriously Undead Beatle. Yes, I practically live at snopes.com some days.

Listen to One of These Days by Pink Floyd. There comes a part when Nick Mason says, in a very deep and sinister voice, "one of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces". How they did this was they got him to say it really fast and high pitched, and slowed it down. If you listen to it at 2x speed, you hear what he really said, and it's hilarious. It sounds like a voice you'd see on Ren and Stimpy. Thanks to Shiri for the correction.
Shiri2004-12-27 19:19:04
I assume you mean Ren(n) and Stimpy?

I think there was one once which said "It's fun to smoke marijuana" backwards. I forget though.
Maedhros2004-12-28 02:25:21
Oh, right. Where the hell did I get Rempy and Stein....
Shiri2004-12-28 02:30:46
I have no idea. In any case, I'm rather ashamed of myself for even knowing that name (I'm sure I can just blame it on my little brother, eh) so don't worry too much.
Maedhros2004-12-28 02:39:11
I know. I hate that show, having the unfortunate luck of seeing it one day on Teletoon late at night.

I'd like to see if Enimem survives the backwards test.
I got a couple meg programe like that a while ago after watching an episode of Screen Savers on Tech TV where it was Cat's download of the week or something (Damn you bastards at Austar, give me my Tech TV back!). I listened to my whole playlist (about 300 songs) at 2x speed, just giggling at the Chip Munks. Some songs are better at 2x than they are at normal. I think Eye of the Storm by 1200 Techniques was one of the best ones.

Subliminal Messages in music and images

You're gonna crap your pants, you've been warned. Nuff said.

Shiri! Listen to warnings next time! >_<

Told you so.

The whole beetles thing was creepy when I heard that.

And uh, play Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon while watching wizard of oz.
Richter2004-12-30 19:40:20
And that website link is blocked here. >_<

Wait til you get home, much more amusing with your speakers turned up way loud. Ask anyone here who's heard it.
