Saw this tonight, and I now need therapy.
Please donate today!
Got home, and my fiancee turned on the TV to static and we both immediately sprinted for the remote to change the channel. The movie itself is a bit lacking, but there are some real jumpy parts, and being a nerd I had to research it a bit on the internet. Freaked me the hell right out looking at some of these webpages.
Again, please donate to my therapy today.

Did you look closely at the webpages to make sure they weren't linked to the movie? Lots of movies do that now adays. X-men was really creative with it.
If it makes you feel better, you can hear voices in a 100% silent room, or in my case, ontop of a mountain in hawaii above the cloud level.

Now thinking about it, it's kind of depressing.
You live your full life...you die...
I want to be heard as like a large cloud forming into the shape of my face and thundering my voice....or through ventriliquism.
I really don't want to speak repeatidely as you fluff the foam for your cappucino or are between putting movies into the VCR.
The websites I looked for are the ones for the American Agency that studies the Phenomenon so they are legit. I had known about it before but really didn't pay any attention as, like you said, you can hear them anywhere. The was the movie presented it just freaked me out though.

Well I do believe the whole thing falls under the 1,000 monkies at 1,000 typewriters theory. White noise is the result of magnetic tape not being set to a specific sequence, i.e. its random. With enough peices of magnetic tape in the world, it would be hard not to find a few words here or there that you can cut and crop and then repeat over and over again untill you hear something.
