Out of curiousity, how do you vote?

Or just vote.png

The choice I would vote for isn't up there.

I would vote for, "Serenwilde don't be so contrary" -- I'm magnagorian
Unknown2005-01-08 13:52:58
The Magnagoran people have spoken.

Well at least so far.

All two of them.

4/4/4/4/3/2 at the time I'm posting this. How odd.
Summer2005-01-08 16:35:23
As Shiri says, 4/4/4/4/3/2... this is a conspiracy right?

I never want it to end. It has no reprecussions on me, and as long as those two are busy bashing eachother's brains out I get some free time from Tuek's clutches.
Gwylifar2005-01-08 23:24:02
As of right now, the voting is clearly in favor of "let it end" in all three groups. (Though not a landslide, it's a clear majority.)
Erion2005-01-08 23:35:17
Two Magnagorans don't really count as a "clear majority". And you act as though "Others" is a singular group. I imagine those pro-fighting are the Celestians for blood-shed, or wanting the Seren to take heat and not them, and rogues like Guido and I, who just want to see the blood. Yay.
Elryn2005-01-09 00:57:51
Just to note, this ooc poll isn't necessarily representative of either organization.

I voted for an end... gods give us some hope for it in sight. I am so weary of not being able to do anything because we have to worry about who's going to attack, or what quest is going to destroy everything we are supposed to, or of being afraid to step outside Serenwilde for fear of being killed. Any cultural development is dead, at least in Serenwilde to my eyes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have had conflict now to reduce the strain on Celest, and its given the fighters in Serenwilde a great opportunity for practice and some interesting discussions on tactics, ironing out any problems. But please, please let it be over soon. pray.gif

I think it's because it is such a one-sided war, unfortunately, that I'm getting more reluctant to inhabit Elryn until its over. It's almost like a siege. Magnagora are the ones calling all the shots here, because they are the only ones who stand to gain from it. All we can do is not lose, there's no hope of achieving anything or furthering our own goals. The only way we can go is down.
Unknown2005-01-09 01:48:06
Maybe give Serenwilde a separate goal to achieve at the same time (not necessarily at Magnagora's detriment)?
Daganev2005-01-09 01:51:28
Using the same obnoxious line from the Alchemy ban arguments...

If you don't fight you won't have to worry about it and you can focus on culture. Seriously, you've probabbly allready lost more power and gold and cultural development time then you would have lost if you didn't fight back.
Elryn2005-01-09 02:11:00
Actually, the situation is a little different. We didn't start the war, and I believe the alchemy comment is in regards to aggression, not resistance.

Serenwilde not fighting back = Serenwilde gets screwed.

Magnagora not fighting = Magnagora ends the war.

Ok, you posted that after I voted and when I voted, 8 Mags had voted to stop it, so....I dun know where you got the number 2.
Karrah2005-01-09 07:03:05
No offence, but the whole way you setup this poll is pretty biased. I'm guessing you want the war to stop hence your posting this. "KILL KILL KILL!" is blown out of proportion. There are reasons for war besides killing.
Unknown2005-01-09 09:25:09
Even if this war has a reason, it is only known by a few and this is in a context where the attackers are clearly disadvantadged, per instance in term of exp lost.

So it's normal, that some magnagorans want to end this war since the whole event puts an heavy strain on some magnagorans and a few serenwilders and a relative lightweight strain on the other magnagorans, serenwilders and celestian who don't know or do not feel very concerned like my character.

But if it's to end up in a stalemate, and have to beg for potions, unenemying and cope with serenwilders with an attitude, i'd rather contemplate the destruction of Serenwilde no matter the cost.

Some people may complain that their character development is altered by this event, but, if this event had not happened, they would just have spent their time bashing or idling around, talking about throwing cows at Munsia and whatnot.

Let's not forget that this war gave a reason for serenwilders to unite and chance o discover their trueself.
Unknown2005-01-09 09:42:29
A reason for us to unite? Pah! We never need a reason to unite, because we're not going to anyway!!

Yeah, even as a member of the Elite Guard, I have No Freaking Clue why we're fighting this war. What Selthar's trying to figure out is why he keeps getting told it's all Magnagora's fault, yet keeps reading on news posts that it's all Serenwilde's fault. He can't even figure out who started what, and nobody's even botherint to tell him that, much less explain WHY.
Daganev2005-01-09 09:48:30
From my limited, not really informed perspective.... Magnagora tried to do something that would increase its aims that involves Crow. Serenwilde either got scared, or was told to not let magnagora succeed. If they got scared, they are worried that Magnagora wants to hurt Serenwilde, and so they started to stop Magnagora. Magnagora however did not intend to hurt serenwilde specificially, and so is confused why Serenwilde would be insulted.

Its much like how when Celest killed Fae, Serenwilde was upset Fae were killed, while Celest thought that since the Fae died for a good cuase Serenwilde should not be mad.

Thats basically the way I see it.

How ironical that both side seem to suffer from a drawback of one of the asset of Lusternia, players driven event.
This event is led as a game of chess, with obviously hold a lot of pawns. I don't mind this... to be a pawn that is.
While, they are adversaries on the lusternian chessboard, the lack of pre-established scenario, shouldn't make the leaders forget about their responsabilities for the game and toward the players which are to make sense with all of this mess.

Maybe, it's time for some serenwilde leaders and why not.. THE serenwilde leader, to demand publicly the reason for this war. and Oooh Auugh.. the return of the arrrgh.. bloody RP and those who sip tea on the battlefield.

At any rate, i hope someone is scribbing what's happening so it will not be remembered as some random period of heavy pk, six month later.

Read the first sentence of Daganev's previous post Freya. We are NOT doing all this without reason, and we feel inclined to tell you about it as much as you feel inclined about telling us Serenwilde's deepest secrets, like where to find the dark spirit that has the spear after so many attempts of using it to steal colts and power from us. Our goal isn't raising Crow....... -just- to kill White Hart with it, we gain nothing from that...you stepped in our way, and you feel that now, just like we feel the alchemy ban, except our effort and ways to hurt you is earned by ourselves. You realize you'd be entirely ripped into shreds without divine aide, unless of course you wouldn't have stepped in our way...

Don't hinder us raising Crow and you won't get hurt...

Don't hurt us or you don't get alchemy...

Notice the part where those resemble and the part where they differ? Those two phrases are both spawned from retarded logic, except one of them can only be applied with divine aide.
