Ok, so I've been ranting on a few threads now how I'd like to see players make the Great Houses of Magnagora.
I was wondering though if perhaps some of the Divine, might want to help initiate this RP by finding the groups of people they think would currently best fit the houses, and one day have that NPC walk up to the players and say "Hey you, let me look at your blood, your nose looks a bit like my grandfathers"
and Voilla!

Is that some weird way of saying you want NPCs to walk up to players and kill them?

No, they're all fantastic genetic analysts that can tell a person's heritage from a blood sample.
Yes.
I actually like the historical houses idea, but I don't think the Divine have time to do that, and besides, by the time They decided you'd roleplayed well, forcing it on you (unless you'd ALREADY been doing it, which would make it rather pointless) wouldn't really be a good thing.

And ultimately, there's already an avenue of approach if you wish to roleplay one of the Great Houses in Magnagora. It's outlined in an announce post by Estarra and several people have made submissions in that regard. Just remember that taking on the name of a Great House, or any famous name from history is an awesome responsibility. so when you create your submission it should be as in depth as any of the histories of Lusternia.

I don't suppose you could point us to that announcement? There's a lot of them, but this -really- interests me.

Subj: Families
Congratulations to the Arthardar Family! They are the first official
family in Lusternia!
On another note, if you are thinking of founding a family that is in
anyway associated with the histories or denizens in Lusternia already in
existence, you must get permission from the gods. You will be required
to write an indepth history of the family which must be approved by the
gods. Please contact the relevant patron (city or guild or whatever) for
more information.

I was kind of thinking along the lines of this:
if a divine just happened to notice that some family allready acts exactly like how a historical family would act, that perhaps that divinity could suggest to those players that they just might be part of a great house.
This would be if some people didn't think they could handle the responcibility of being a certain Name, but everyone else (i.e. the admins) thought that they are allready doing it.
Just an idea to think about in the future
