Credit buying

Alright, so I'm thinking of buying credits. Anyways, I was wondering, would it be legal if I were to make a second character to buy the credits on, in order to get a lesson bonus, and then proceed to transfer the credits themselves to Malevius?

Just wondering, cause I'd like to take advantage of a lesson bonus with an alt, so that I can get the most of the credits and such and have an alt with a little extra boost to him.

But I just want to make sure if that's legal or not first, otherwise I'll just buy on Malevius if I decide to.

That's fine. peace.gif

Alright cool, thanks for the quick reply happy.gif

All OOC. biggrin.gif

Bah, wish I had thought to ask that. I bought 500 credits and had them given to my main character because I thought having them sent to my alt and then transfered would be in violation of seconds. doh.gif

Was it legal to purchase credits on someone else's char for the newbie bonus, and then have them transfer them back to me?

I've done that once or twice *duck*

That's also fine I believe.
Karrah2005-01-11 21:31:57
According to the rules, yes.

Wait I don't want to spoil the fun and maybe I have misread something here, but doesn't HELP CREDITTRANSFERS specifically say this is not aloud? If it is, well, expect me to buy more credits soon.

OOC ways to gain credits (which can then be transferred freely)
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Buy them for money on the Lusternia website, or via the mails.
- Win a Bardic/Artisanal contest.
- As a Guide.

Ah I see, it is just the IC credits that cannot be swapped about freely. My bad *goes searching for the credit card*. (Soon...very soon)

That's the one I can't wait for...

If my buddy were to make an alt, I become mentor of it, and then we buy OOC credits on the alt, would that be OK, or No-no?
Unknown2005-01-14 20:58:05
Depends. I think if the alt is made only to get you more credits (that is, once you buy them, you transfer them to the mentor, who also gets his 'mentorship fee'), then I think it's a no-no. But being curious myself, I'd rather hear Estarra's answer to this question.

That's where it starts to get harder. Make sure you're not violating any rules between characters that know characters of people you know. Ya know?

As for somenoe mentoring to get a bonus, we'd likely have to have a Divine answer on that. Though, I've done it before, had someone mentor me when I bought credits on Aetolia.

Well technically I would have mentored his other char if I had the mentor reqs when he was young. So, I'm not mentoring entirely to get the fee, but It would just be an added bonus smile.gif. We were gunna use the alt so he got them bonus lessons.
However, if the mentoring thing is no go, then I'm making my own alt for them lessons smile.gif.

I say, wait for Estarra to answer. Relying on a lazy bum whose character's name is unknown to most of the players (me) isn't a good idea.
Even though I had an extreme knowledge of every single PK rule in Achaea (yes, every single one - madness, I know). Those were the good times... wait, they were actually pretty bad. Oh well.
Unknown2005-01-14 22:11:52
Well, I pool with other poeple to buy credits, and they dont have money now so weve got plenty of time before we actually buy them.

Hmm, I know this is an old thread, but I have a similar question that I'd like to know the answer to before going ahead...

A friend of mine is interested in starting to play Lusternia (haha! spread the addiction!) and is probably going to end up buying credits. Thing is, she doesn't have a credit card, so would likely end up giving me the money so I can use my credit card to buy the credits for her. Will there be any problems with Shinza being her mentor?

I'm mostly wondering whether using the same credit credit card to buy credits for two different characters who have a mentor/protege relationship but are played by different players is going to cause any problems. unsure.gif

No, that's fine.
