So I went nihilist and got hexes, thinking I could do well with it like how I did with geomancers who I was told were the worst class. All I can say is, wow, they were right about this one. There's a lot of room for improvement here. Here's my ideas in that area.
For one, allhex could use more flexibility. I can understand 10 power for 6 hexes at once, but there should be an option to use less power and less simultaneous hexes. For example, 5 hexes at once is 8 power, 4 hexes is 6 power, 3 hexes is 4 power and 2 hexes is 2 power ala supersling.
Another idea for nihilists (dunno about celestines) is to let us sting people with the tail while we draw hexes. The help file says the tail has its own balance, but it really doesn't. Otherwise I've found that trying to draw hexes while someone is beating on you isn't feasible at all. Try drawing hexes in a room while fighting in hartstone demesne and half of them end up in the trees
Another possibility is to have it use arm balance, or arm equilibrium in this case. You draw a hex with one arm and throw it with another, making it easier to use in the middle of combat.
So, thoughts? I can see it being worse than tarot based on the construction, but it takes 1k mana for 6 hexes made and another 1k for 6 thrown. It seems so much weaker (especially in light of the new gorgulu power) that I really think it deserves a buff.

Just thought I'd point out I'm the Nihilist envoy and you can message me your ideas/complaints/etc.
I'll include the stuff in my report I suppose, not sure how many Nihilists use hexes so it'll probably just be your addition.

Actually I'm writing up a the hexes report for my envoy as well, and I have a lot of interesting ideas to toss in. Also, your numbers are wrong, it is 1.2k mana to draw 6, and 1.2k to hex with those. So 200 mana per draw, and 200 mana per hex. 400 mana, two equilibrium uses, specific message, for one affliction.

Yeah, well I knew it was in the 1k range, didn't measure it exactly

The mana cost is insane, if nothing else. With drawdown, forest regen, moon, and sprite, I still run out of mana if I hex heavily.
What I'd like to see is have two ways to use hexes. Start with just throwing them, and then a bit later, add the ability to draw them. That way you can use them like Curses, or draw to use them like traps or to set up allhex. Also, it'd be nice if we either had a scaling power use for allhex (2 for 2, etc), or just an abilitiy to doublehex or something.

I like the single use concept, but it needs to cost less mana for sure. 2400 for one set of six, and if they survive that (which any good fighter will) then it's 4800 after the next set. Even if I transcended enchantments I could only barely pull off 2 rounds of it against most classes and probably never 3.
