If anyone wants to hear some of my piano playing, I would be happy to put it up here. Some call me a prodigy, but I don't take credit in that. Though I HAVE had 11 years of piano training, so ya. Let me know. I just finished a nice piece called Mignon by Schumann, and I think it fits Lusternia pretty well. ALso I just started a Chopin Nocturne. Mmhm, so let me know guys.

If you were a prodigy, you would not need 11 years of piano training.

If you have had 11 years of piano training, I am sure you are apt.

Beyond that, I wouldn't push yourself.

Don't be a wank, Rhysus. The person is trying to share, make themselves feel a little better, that kind of thing. If you can get no joy from it, fine, bugger off.

Oh and a prodigy can NOT just jump on a piano and bash away, they still have to learn and practice. The 11 years of practice is very little, Rhysus, comapred to great composers of the past.

I'd love to hear some of your stuff Elessar. My partner is a trained pianist and my favourite artist is Tori Amos, a modern composer, so I obviously have a bit of a thing for pianos biggrin.gif .

Sorry Rhysus, I will be stooping to your level for a second, you're a dickwad. Shog off! How would you know anything about being a prodigy? And for those of you who don't know, prodigies may be able to play great things, quickly, but they still have to practice. It would be a wonderous person who took three weeks of teaching then could play the Sonata in C# Minor which is a difficult piece! Please, I don't care if you respect me in game, because you obviously dont, so could you at least be respectful elsewhere?

Daniel

PS I'll work on getting a recording of it.

Rhysus is right - while you are probably very good, if you were really a *prodigy* you wouldnt need soo much training.

Don't get me wrong, I know how hard piano is, and you are probably very good at it. It twould be cool to hear it, I suppose, althoug I can't say I'm a huge fan of solo piano work...

A prodigy is simply someone who is amazingly gifted. There is no set period of time a prodigy is aloud to take in practicing their art. the Oxford doesn't declare, next to the definition of prodigy, a disclaimer saying 'note: may only practice for three weeks. ever.'

ignore the idiots elessar i bet they've never even touched an instrument and they probably have no idea how hard it is to learn to play an instrument.

except a bass those are just so sexy you can get into them easyily tongue.gif

I do like listening to piano work while playing lusternia (with everything else). please share. I won't take sides in the current argument though, I do think it is a bit daft for someone to claim they are a prodigy (although you didn't you just said some people say that which is fine). I also think its pretty rude to just shut someone down that is probobly pretty talented. Oh well.

Do you know anything by strauss? I love him.
