I think it should. I'd like to see what others think about it. I would love to have like 5 husbands. There's enough love to go around.
eirene2005-01-28 01:22:01
Oh man! only 2 minutes up and shiri is already reading it!
Shiri2005-01-28 01:22:19
Uhhh...well...I WOULD like to see multiple brothers and sisters in a bloodbond, so...well, no, I'd hate this, but in the sake of fairness...
EDIT: 2 minutes? Darn, I'm getting slow. I was writing up a CHELP file and a skillset at the time though, maybe I can get excused for that.

I've never heard of a society that allowed women more than one husband. Ever. Never ever ever. Always man with multiple wives. Because, bluntly, a woman with 5 husbands doesn't make as much sense as a man with 5 wives.

11 to 2. Wow.
Unknown2005-01-28 02:32:39
For some reason my mind just replaced polygamy with orygami (sp?) and so I was like.. "Paper husbands?" anyway.
Sekreh2005-01-28 02:52:38
Multiple bloodbonds makes biological sense, maybe polygamy could be possible but the gods would never officiate marriages and cities would outlaw it or something. That would lead to it being about as popular as it is in the developed world today.

I asked the Divine if i could marry Yuniko/Kari, but they said no. *grumble*
Rhysus2005-01-28 03:57:05
Three way marriages used to be possible. Remember Gijan?
Shoshana2005-01-28 04:07:21
I'd say yes, except that I don't think it would be allowed for exactly the same reason that you can't have multiple bloodbonds... Far too easy to have a great house very quickly like that. In any case, I think that it shouldn't be allowed unless everyone is in a relationship with everyone else, and all get married to each other, otherwise it would get reeeeally complicated...
Daganev2005-01-28 04:10:49
actually, now that I think about it, it would not make sense in lusternia. Why? Because of the joke we like to make, "Allow gay marriage, allow polygamy. Lets all get married, and be one big happy family!"
I'll marry everybody in the world if I get the chance *nod me*

I don't see the point in restricting great houses really. They basically get a clan? Are there any other benifits I am missing?
Sekreh2005-01-28 04:35:57
Well if people abused it.
Say a group of IC assassins just all bloodbonded and then married lots of random people in different cities, until they had this huge assassin spy network disguised as a great house. A channel for plots, all private and near impossible to infiltrate, no one would suspect it.
Thats either a really interesting RP or a total abuse of the system

Great houses are restricted because it makes it cooler and more interesting. Who the crap cares if you get a great house if it's meaningless and everyone has one? If it takes an effort, when someone gets it, they're -notable-. It's a means of having 'noble' families, ones everyone knows about. It brings up questions like whether or not you have good breeding, or if you just come from some obscure family. They're called -Great- houses, not 'random idiot families'.
Jerah2005-01-28 06:11:22
And polygamy is stupid, it would never be roleplayed, it would just be used as an excuse for kinky mudsex threesomes.
Ialie2005-01-28 07:07:51
Edit: What I had to say wasn't important.

I'm not sure your intent with that, and so until I am, I'll refrain from being insulted.
Daganev2005-01-28 08:17:51
I was being silly.
You see in lusternia you can marry any other person, if you allowed polygamy, you could have the entire player base married to eachother, its a funny image.
