Gregori as Seneschal

Back to Common Grounds.

Why is it that a dwarf, who was born from villages that mines areas out, hurt the environment, is Seneschal of a commune that hates cities that destroy the environment? If I was in Serenwilde, I'd be pretty upset that a non-Elfen is a Seneschal, since this game is built around racism.
Aris2005-01-22 22:42:31
because he recently reincarnated into a dwarf, and probably RPed it?

hush, conan.
Silvanus2005-01-22 22:44:55
That might explain why I just noticed it, but still. Its an Elfen dominated Commune, I know if a non-Viscanti was ever Overlord/Emperor whatever of Magnagora, I'd be very upset and have people contest every month until he is replaced.
Aebrin2005-01-22 22:50:55
I donno, if say the Emperor had a nice RP on why he changed from Viscanti, it would be interesting to see the response.

In Celest, I guess we're friendly to all. Viscanti is a bit iffy, but we'll see.
Silvanus2005-01-22 22:51:23
For Celest, a non-Merian should never be the Prince.
Shiri2005-01-22 22:54:03
I don't think so. I think it should just be things like...Viscanti = NO in Serenwilde and Celest, Elfen + Merian = NO in Magnagora, but not restrict -everyone- but Merian. That would just suck.
Unknown2005-01-22 22:54:50
Jello is an elfen, and intends never to run for a political position in mag besides maybe champion. I'll just give lots of advice wink.gif

Agreed. There are strong racial overtones in Celest. Just look at the city. The merian quarter, the non-merian quarter...
Silvanus2005-01-22 22:55:19
How would that suck? They have a Merian quarter, the Merians built the Pool of Stars, the Merians have kept Celest running for the hundreds of years.

Nah the city's pretty open minded. Like if you check out the layout of the city, you'd notice that sure the majority of the citizens are Merians, so there is a Merian section of town. While another part of time is for non-Merians.

We're a multicultural society with a nexus.
Rhysus2005-01-22 22:56:58
I would never stand for my successor to be of non-Merian lineage.
Silvanus2005-01-22 22:57:18
The Merians founded the Water plane, Celestia, and built the Pool of Stars, they also founded all the guilds. Only a Merian should be on the Star Council. Just look at Rhysus' warcry, its what Celest should be, "A Merian... or nothing."
Silvanus2005-01-22 22:57:32
Thank you Rhysus.
Manjanaia2005-01-22 23:00:01
i agree that the themes of the game would mean that only city races could get leadership.

however, it would make for good RP if there was a contestion from a non-city race. Good luck Jello I say.

Celest needs a contestion I think. Last one was Annabelle...
Shiri2005-01-22 23:01:04
It does work within the RP, maybe so, but it would just be very sad, as to become of such importance I don't think race, which you can only change once, and then if you make a mistake early on you're screwed unless you buy credits, should make THAT much of a difference. Ehh...
Silvanus2005-01-22 23:03:14
The game is based around Racism, it should be a huge factor. Its changing from the former IRE realms that races were chosen for the stats in fighting, to a whole concept of extreme hatred between races. Where your choice should be chosen by your RP moreso then your statics, which most people ignored.
Shiri2005-01-22 23:06:24
Screws over us Furrikin etc. minorities even more though. Not that I plan to contest, but if I did.
Silvanus2005-01-22 23:11:31
Minorities are not welcome! Elfen are the Owners of Serenwilde, as they had founded the Fae and healed the Basin and should be held over all other races iN Serenwilde. Merians built the Pool of Stars, found the Water plane and Celestia, and should be held above all else in Celest. Viscanti are Magnagora, and the same thing.
Unknown2005-01-22 23:12:30
Actually, I meant to say that I would NOT run, heh. But I left out the word 'not'. Funny how vital that word can be blush.gif
Unknown2005-01-22 23:13:45
I'd have to agree with Silvanus. No non-Merian should ever be Prince of New Celest, no non-Viscanti Emperor of Magnagora. And Jello, I'd have to say while other races could hold other positions in Magnagora, I'd have to say a Merian or Elfen should never hold any political or guild position in Magnagora. It is just the RP. It would be extremely out of place.

As for Serenwilde, I could see Elfen and Faeling being the only ones allowed to stand as the Seneschal, but I could also see it as not, where anyone could run for Seneschal. Except Viscanti.

That IS racial discrimination right there. Ever hear of "separate but equal"?
Here's a good explanation
