So Aris attacked me in Delport where I'm enemied and died, I became a bully of him. He then came back and attacked me again and I couldn't attack him back, his attacking me didn't remove suspect. Is that intentional or a bug?
Aris2005-01-24 09:15:25
I R DEAD BLARGARH.
Unknown2005-01-24 09:58:37
Seriously, if that's intentional I am going to be really dissapointed because it's retarded on so many levels.
For one, the people who do raiding and the people who expect to fight when the village is uninfluenced can't be the same, oxymoronically.
Second, the reason defending a village from raiders is a depressing experience is because the raiders are never there when you arrive, perhaps I know why now?
I really hope that this will be changed, otherwise I'm going to have to find a new hobby Since this basically ruins village related rp, makes raiding nothing but spam inducement and frustration and there's nothing more frustrating than having someone attack and kill you and you can't do anything back to them. So with things like this, raiding would never be anything else for both sides.

Attacks in enemy territories and non-prime should not affect PK status in any way.

Village influence was originally intended to be a much more non-violent event. If you can't fight others during influencing season then put up a sanctuary and influence the NPCs for your city without slaying other players. Or there is an even easier solution: make peace with the village leader before influencing opens up or don't get enemied to the village by killing its denizens. It really doesn't make sense that you should have no disadvantage in a village after you spend months pillaging it. Reperations with its citizens are certainly in order.
Rhysus2005-01-24 17:47:13
On the topic of the Avenger, is Conglutination meant to not work after being slain by an Avatar?
Unknown2005-01-24 18:17:14
I'm pretty sure it didn't always work this way. In any case, you should really change the avenger help files to point this out. The avenger "not protecting" you is very different from what it does in actuality, kills you if you defend yourself in the wrong place.
I would have never bought any credits or started playing if I'd known it worked this way. You should also take out villagers asking for help over the normal city channel because it's only spam, no one sticks around to fight people who show up to defend anyway.

That doesn't make any sense. If you can't fight them because you're enemied from the village and have suspect on people, you can't influence anyone there either. All this does is turn raiding and defending villages into a pointless annoyance.
Edit: Isn't it also impossible to use sanctuary where you're enemied?
Shamarah2005-01-24 20:02:20
You really shouldn't let PK Suspect get removed from people being attacked while in enemy territory. Sure, it's their fault for being in there, but they should at least get a chance to defend themselves if they want.
Unknown2005-01-24 23:20:07
Why should you be able to influence a village that you've got yourself enemied to? That makes no sense.
If you kill people fighting for a village, then kill the villagers, then you will be mostly out of the fight, but only due to your actions.

If you want to defend yourself in a village you have enemied yourself to, make peace with the village leader by getting unenemied. If you are too afraid to enter the village to do so on your own, pay a trusted diplomat to use diplomacy on your behalf. It's your fault if you enter an enemy village and don't bother to become allied.
Unknown2005-01-25 01:13:14
About amnesty though, it seems broken. I'll influence a denizen, and they will give me like 9 months of reprieve. I then go back later and influence them with amnesty again, and they officially declare that I am completely no longer an enemy. However, the reprieve stays, and at the end of the months, I am once again an enemy.
Is it supposed to be like this? Where you can't ever get completely unenemied to somewhere, without paying gold? I should be unenemied to the Mesa, Nomads, Southgard, and Dairuchi, since I've influenced those denizens multiple times while reprieved with amnesty.

Killing someone with Lich shouldn't put you on their bully list.

This change or bug applies to more than villages. I was attacked in Celest, by some people that were suspected to me, and I could not attack back because they remained suspects even as they attacked. So basically right now, there is no point of fighting defenders, or even raiding when there are defenders around. I'm still hoping its a bug though, if not this game has really fallen more than I thought at first.
Unknown2005-01-25 01:47:49
I was under the impression, if someone attacked you while you were in enemy territory, while you wouldn't gain suspect on them if they killed you, they would still lose suspect on you, allowing you to fight back. What Daevos said does seem like a bug.
Shamarah2005-01-25 02:02:30
Yeah, that really needs to be changed.
Unknown2005-01-25 02:34:02
Consider me confused.

It's a bug. It will be fixed no later than tomorrow.

And a cheer rises up from the people who die to those 5% of their might in Acknor!

Amnesty is random. It rarely gives you full reprieve. Paying them off is the surest way to get a full reprieve.
