Um, maybe not hoofs. Just horns. Taurian's don't have hoofs. Okay, now that I've made this clear, I'll jump to explain my idea.
I think that Taurians should be able to create Stampedes when in large groups (though right now, with only about three Taurians alive...). Right now with the current Taurian skill of ENRAGE, you can consider we have the the process of incitement to stampede. So this means Taurians obviously show they can engange in a bravado at any time. BUT we need an Stampede skill!
Why? It would be a very cool feature, and it would further give reasons for other races to actually not want us Taurians in group. I have a suggestion of how this skill could work:
A group of Taurians gather, choose a leader and follow him. Then, all Taurians Enrage the leader, or themselves. Once they are psyched up/pumped up thanks to Enrage, the leader could STAMPEDE and practically sprint to a given direction while trampling anything in the way causing damage and broken limbs. Now, the severity of the injury could be in direct direction to the size of the group, meaning: the bigger the group the greater the damage. A Stampede of one could probably just knock down someone and stun, while a group of five could break the limbs of a single person or random limbs of a group, while knocking them down/or pushing them to another room along with taking an amount of damage. This would surely make everyone avoid having us Taurians in herds

I like it! Course, you'd still be rubbish at anything else.

Sounds cool to me. Might give a bit more incentive for people to choose that race.
Faethan2005-01-31 04:43:12
I think its cool, but I think it should also be somewhat dependant on the total level of the group, thus discouraging the use of level 5 taurians to create a large stampede. Obviously, 3 level 70 Taurians should do more damage than 1 level 70 and 2 level 10s.

I really think this is a good idea, it creates incentive to play an interesting, but underplayed race, and also gives the "mercenary" taurian a chance to exist.
Desdemona2005-01-31 21:29:24
I believe if the Stampede feature were implemented that it could serve as encouragement for people to become Taurians, too. Sure, for some reason the racial stats don't seem very appealing as they are right now, as well... but this could quickly change if Stampede were added (and seeing how Taurians are a dumb race, maybe we could do with -1 int and either:+1 cont, +1 strength, or a level one resistance to blunt damage )
Still, the race itself is a very cool concept.

Unforunately, it's a very cool racial concept that only works in numbers.
Of which there aren't any.
Sad.

I'd actually say -2 Charisma, because they are big, hulky, bulls, who have the ability to stampede and enrage each other, who is going to follow them?
Faethan2005-01-31 21:40:21
I think the Taurians could do with an increase to strength maybe up to 16 so that enrage will put them above other races, an added resistance (probably blunt or cutting) , and a decrease of charisma and intelligence. I really like the idea behind Taurians, but they really need a bit of a boost so that people will play them in reasonable numbers.

Yeah, I completely overlooked our Charisma. But you are right, who would be eager to follow us when I believe races are meant to fear us group in numbers? -2 Charisma sounds pretty good, and those two points could be allotted into other stats more proper to the race's concept: Strength or Constitution, or both and/or, add another special racial benefit like Blunt protection level one. Because Taurians are supposed to be massive and very muscular, I think they should be a bit brutish and a tad impervious to physical damage.

Reasonable numbers? How about two-hundred taurians, with a at least twenty taurians constantly being able to be found in realms active at the same time? It would be fun if this happened. Come people, reincarnate into Taurians and grow yourself some real horns
I believe the idea behind Taurians right now (and probably their stampede) is the following:
Taurians enrage themselves more and more loosing control of themselves, with chances of hitting non-Taurians. This possibility of hitting something not Taurian, probably without your consent... is probably what was regarded as the stampede. Ya, know, crazy Taurians. Guess I'll really find out how berserk a Taurian can be once I reach level 50. Though, I still think Taurian's Enrage is nothing more than the pumping/pysching up process for Taurians... so a real Stampede skill would be a great compliment. Probably something like Trample (the riding skill?), but more deadly as the size of the Herd increases.

I completely agree with this. In fact, I believe you are supposed to be level 50 to be able to Enrage. So probably a level requirement for Stampede would be befitting. Probably something like... Level 60, and upon reaching level 60 you can be considered as a Herd Leader meaning being someone who can Stampede
