If you don't care about warriors, read no further.
Scabbards and some bludgeon equivalent (like a beltloop) really need to be implemented. In the RP sense, it severely limits our ability for knighting ceremonies. Being forced to walk around with weapons drawn is not only annoying, but it can be considered disrespectful as well. Everyone I have talked to agrees with me that they really would like to have scabbards. Note how other IRE games have them (not that Lusternia has to reflect every aspect of other IRE games, but scabbards are fairly basic and I think they are a necessity for a knight).
I understand that scabbards may not be high priority for coding, but I ask that they be incorporated sooner rather than later.

Yes! Give us scabbards please!
And... I might be wrong, but I think scabbards already exist, or at least, exist as a generic sort of container, because I saw Isune wearing one ages back.
Then again... if they made it so we could craft scabbards of different designs... *daydream*

I wonder if this is implented does it mean that the warriors can carry more than one weapon on them? Two carried and wielded, and may another nicely placed in the scabbard?

Yes.

scabbards are a glorious, glorious things.

Scabbards are cool. Mebbe make this a forging/tailoring skill, with, of course, customizable designs. And several different types, like sword scabbards, loops for hanging blunt weapons, boot sheathes for daggers, etc.

I've always had my maces in beltloops. I just RP it.
They are needed though...

I was trying some years back to kluge non-functional-but-decorative ones through jewelry heirlooms, but no go. I was really hoping they'd be out in time for my handfasting. Ah, well. Someday, please...

Don't forget the boots, I want boots!
Richter2005-02-02 18:39:15
Yes, boots are badly needed.
Steel toed ones that add +1 st to your kicks, and gauntlets that add +1 st to your punches!

Get your own thread! Well, boots and gaunts are decent ideas, but let's ask for one thing at a time.. and pray they get implemented soon

Scabbards "exist" in HELP BASECOMMANDS. They scabbard ones are the very last ones on item-related commands.
Ixion2005-02-03 02:04:42
By the way... make scabbards a forging skill. Forging, along with poisons, don't really "bring in the money" well at all, especially since there's no consistency in them. That is, most forgings have 200+ decay times so we are useless much of the time. Perhaps shields, armour, and weapons can be damaged much faster and make repairing them cost something. That would increse the need for blacksmiths.

Have them need sharpening on a regular basis.
Of course, then you'd have even fewer knights without forging.
