The little people of Lusternia...

Greetings everyone,

I have been playing Lusternia for a while and before that Achaea. Due to the fact that I cannot spend too much time on Lusternia or games in general, I consider myself "one of the little people" of Lusternia, meaning: I never reach high guildranks, never grow too powerfull, never see an event, never be friends with the big people, never be able to join the secret circles of Lusternia and so on.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't bad at all, as I can see that other people spend a whole lot more time within the game than I do and therefore surely deserve what they have earned so far.
Now, what I am wondering is, what is the perception of the other little people of Lusternia? Is it fun logging on, reading through the news and see the impact of those world-changing news?

From my point of view, Lusternia surely is a game you can spend just an hour on and still have fun. Duties like adding power to the city may be repetitive when spending a lot of time on Lusternia, but isn't that frustrating when you do not have the time to play that much. Even defending villages is fun.
The only thing I'd have to complain about is that when you belong to the "little people" of Lusternia you surely do not have access to certain orders, therefore no real access to a deeper roleplaying. Tyring to get into some orders without your name being really well known is quite a hard thing. Sometimes you may get the feeling that the real RP decisions are made elsewhere, somewhere really far far away from the public city- or guildchannels.

So, are there any other people who'd consider themselves "the little people of Lusternia"? And if there are, what are your experiences?

I'm short.

but I don't think thats what you mean.

I tried to make my charachter a little person, the temptation got to me, and I just couldn't do it.

I know just what you mean. I was a nobody in Aetolia for... oh... a year or so.

And now that people know me here, I realized I have nothing to contribute to this thread. *peer me*

So, I'm the only one considering himself as one of the masses? Oi, now that surely is a strange thing.
Anyhow, I am not only talking about being well known, but rather about not spending a huge amount of time on Lusternia, so you're actually not able to keep up with things in a way that you're not even there when things happen. As in "I only play once or twice a week for about 3 hours".

Hm, maybe those people do not roam the forum, either!
Well, let's see!

Im one of the nameless masses! Nobody knows who I am... eh, okay, so maybe they do, but still, this is the first "known" character ive played, so I know where youre coming from.

I consider myself "a little person of Lusternia" -- the MUD, not the forums. wink.gif

Why have only "big people" (excluding Dennio) only answered in this thread? That seems weird, I'm sure the majority of Lusternian players are "little people". I guess what Dennio said is true: the don't roam the forums.

I just have to say that I agree to what Dennio has currently said in this thread. It's quite amusing just watching the happenings of the world pass by you -- an insignificant, unknown character. But I, myself, the player, am searching for some quality roleplaying experiences. Except, for some reason, I can't get my characters to become "big people".

I like being a "little person", but I probably spent too much time on Achaea being one of those.

I'm not sure I understand the little person mentality, since I was inducted into Mag's inner circle right away based on who I was in other games blush.gif

That being said though, I don't think the inner circle of Magnagora in particular is that exclusive. Are the "little people" in our clan? No. Have any of them asked to be in the clan? Nope. Not to me anyway, and I can induct. I think if you just try to help and get along then people will generally let you.

For instance, even if you have no credits, a mage archetype who can force flood/forest/taint is always useful. My 2 best buds on Lusternia haven't bought credits, but they're mages and we love them tongue.gif

In my opinion, I don't think that should be allowed... You create a significant character in one MUD should not give you privileges to bring that significance and respect into another. They are different worlds, even if they are made by the same company.

You are known well, even if not ICly...
Kaileigh2005-02-02 10:03:39
I make myself known by being really annoying.
Unknown2005-02-02 10:09:04
Seconded.
Unknown2005-02-02 10:45:19
I'm one of the people who are unknown but am online a fair amount. Meh. No biggie. I have no qualms.
Erion2005-02-02 15:06:04
Yea. Erion's one of those little known people. =\\ Here's to us little people!
Kaervas2005-02-02 15:17:11
I'm only known because Fain made me Minister of Power about 2-3 weeks into the game and everyone needed to know me to get their power tongue.gif
Jack2005-02-02 15:40:11
Yep, I'm a nobody.

AND PROUD! Kinda.
Gwylifar2005-02-02 15:58:45
Gwylifar started out a little people, and I fully expected him to be overlooked and not noticed for a good long while. But he got a bit more notice than I expected this early, which is all right, just a slightly different path than I expected to take. It's all good, as they say. Of course I'm still not a big mover and shaker; I'm in the nebulous in-between, enough to be there when things happen sometimes but not really one of the people making them happen.
Bricriu2005-02-02 16:07:07
I like to think Bricriu is (in)famous.... wub.gif But I don't care either way - I had fun as a portal fresh novice, I'm having fun now.
Shiri2005-02-02 16:15:44
Yeah, I'm really unimportant in game (although I'm sure there's plenty of people who'd be a lot happier without me there tongue.gif) even if I'm not in the forums. wink.gif

And Erion, you are NOT little known, don't give us that tongue.gif
Laysus2005-02-02 16:32:10
I fully expected to be little-known. 'Cept I don't think I am, any more.

Yay for arrogant little faelings!
