My idea is simple, and takes into account the current Avenger system.
However instead of only gaining suspect the first time you die, you would gain it when they struck you, and if they had PK careful on, it would prevent them from striking again. If someone slew you a single time, you would gain vengeance. However, the avenger would no longer peace you.
There would also be a CHALLENGE command, in which you may challenge anyone else, and much like in an arena duel, you would not gain suspect, nor vengeance. The challenge would wear off in an IC month, or once one or the other dies.
You may also BLACK MARK yourself, as a violent and bloody individual. Should you do this, you loose all protection by the Avenger for a year, and may freely attack anyone else who has Black Marked themselves. Those still protected from Avenger lose all protection for a period of one Lusternian day when they attack a Black Marked individual.
Within villages up for influence, or enemy villages or cities, you would not be protected by suspect nor vengeance.
