That log reminds me.... Carcer is pretty useless. And Fall is bugged, so it only blocks one exit. Repeat it and it does multiple rubbles in the same exit. I think Carcer should be made more effective, like piety in Achaea.

I think carcer should not hit the user... the Gods are all puzzled by the amount of unsportsmanlike pk in Lusternia, but so many of the skills are only useful in an ambush or serve no real purpose besides aiding in an ambush.

Out of 15 times I moved out of the carcered room, I got stopped three times. Meaning carcer has a 20% chance of working, isn't that a liiiitle low for a skill that takes 900 mana and disappears within a few seconds?

What the hell are you guys complaining about? At least you get Carcer to use and hold someone in, some classes like Serenguard doesn't get any holding abilities, you get Carcer and Fall, and you're still complaining that it sucks? Why don't you just ask for an ability that stops all your enemies from moving, and kill them in one second that uses 0 powers? doh.gif

Fall blocks all the exits when I use it, but the rubble doesn't last anywhere near long enough for it to be effective, same with carcer, especially as you don't see when it wears out.

Also: Carcer affects me and other Magnagorans more often then it affects the people I'm trying to stop dry.gif

It'd be nice if it lasted more then a minute.

Um, are you sure about that? Out of six tries total (Olan 1 and Ethelon 5), only two of those succeeded. That's two thirds blocked, not one fifth.

Zarguan, when I test it 15 times, it's a lot more accurate than when you test it 6 times. I'll test it 50 times and post the results of that, maybe that convinces you.

15 is not nearly enough. Test it at least 500 times to get a decent number. Also test it with different sizes to see if that changes anything.

You can do 100 if you like, but it won't be statistically valid. Just do 500 and keep stats - 150 successful, 350 blocked or whatever it ends up being.

Okay, I did 600...and this were my results:

Moved = 600

Carcered = 198

--> 600/198 = 3 --> 100/3 = 33

Conclusion, carcer has a 33% efficiency, more than I thought at first (20%), but still very ineffective, though combined with Fall tarot (once it's fixed) and a bit of luck, it can be useful, but for Ur'Guard I don't think it's of much use at all.

But like said, fall tarot is bugged, and will most of the time block the same exit over and over even if you fling 40 of them, leaving open the other exits.

Again, why are you complaining if it has a 33% chance of blocking sprinting, leaping, walking, flying, and mountjump? It is a low level ability in Rituals that 4 city guilds share, while the two Magi guilds get icewall/stonewall. You have a very powerful holding ability, while the Seren guilds get briar wall and pigwidgeon, stop complaining already.

And I highly doubt that it isn't useful for a Ur'guard since it is incredibly easy to run from a knight, Paladins and Ur'guards have a greater chance of keeping their targets in a room to finish them off.

Hmm, true, I forgot I got access to icewalls as well, next to fall tarot and carcer, but then again, you got the advantage of being able to put up icewalls, and leap over them if your target tumbles or rolls out. But you're right, it's pretty balanced, I got no reason to complain about carcer.
