No 'I know everything' posts will be coming from me for awhile.

I'm researching as much as I can about this job (editorial assistant for Tor Books, for those who don't know).

The. More. I. Learn. About. It. The. More. I. Want. It.

It's going to be a 1.5-2 hour commute -each way-.

It's a busy job, and you get little to no rest. You might have to take work home with you.

(Oh, yeah, interview on Tuesday - I bought a new suit jacket and tie for it - khaki dress pants, dress shirt, navy blue jacket with a nice silk tie). ::drools::

That's the first thing people look at, many times. Make sure you have a decent belt too. I'll refer you all to the two pics of me in a suit in the other thread.

And make sure you have none of that 12-year old peach fuzz from your pic!

Shoes? And belt? What happened to looking someone in the face?

Everyone knows to make thier face pretty. Its a sign of someone who can think ahead and pay attention to detail if thier shoes and belt are nice.

I did the math and his interview is now about an hour away, let us cross our fingers for him. Only cross fingers on ONE hand though, or it doesn't work. *nod me*

Yeah, 'cause THAT's gonna happen. And I was referring to schoolteachers as well. I mean, they teach you how to analyse Shakespeare plays no one cares about, but they don't even tell you that you can only cross one pair of fingers to get good luck instead of two. I mean, that's a valuable life skill, is that. *mutters*

It went well (I hope), now to write a couple thank you notes, and hope for the best .

One cross means good luck, two cancels it out, three means good luck, cuz there's nothing to cancel it out.

Good for you. Ignore the ones talking about finger crossing, they don't really care so much if Shiri becomes the topic of discussion.. Writing thank you letters is always a plus, doesn't let them forget you. If you get in, I'll have to mail you a beer or something...

What about crossing toes? You know the "Keep your fingers and toes crossed" thing.
