Pretty self-explanatory... post!
Silvanus2005-02-16 02:25:33
I voted Hartstone.
Shiri2005-02-16 02:31:29
...okay, who voted geomancers?
Jack2005-02-16 02:33:09
I vote ur'Guard.
They are the steroid-addicts of Lusternia, the best at tanking damage and pretty damn good at giving it out.

I voted Aquamancers. If they had some people whom used their skills effectively and powerfully, it would be a strong example as to just how POWERFUL (read: OVERPOWERED) that class is.

I second that. Not to say Geomancers are crap, but I mean..come on.
Shiri2005-02-16 03:21:38
Probably someone...misread it.

Aquamancers are very powerful, in a demesne. Outside of a demesne, they are very vulnerable (As it should be). On the otherhand, all guardians are pretty nifty anytime (Well those who have atleast transed a guildskill or two).
Perhaps you should concentrate on gaining some levels, lessons, and credits. With your present amount of skills & health, you lack the ability to deal with any decent mage outside of his demesne (Won't even go into you trying to fight one inside of the demesne).
Sylphas2005-02-16 04:26:22
Moondancers? I'm not even going to touch the argument over whether we're weak or not, but the best? Seriously people, think a bit.
Silvanus2005-02-16 04:27:56
Moondancers are the best guardian class. Sure, you don't have an instantkill, but toadcurse is useful enough.
Drago2005-02-16 04:30:29
Erm.. Kailegh (whatever) wasn't inside her demesne and came close to killing me. I don't know about you but anyone that does me 1.4k+ a hit falls into the "doesn't need any help" box.

I assume you are speaking to me. If you read what I wrote, you will notice that I did not mention anything about Aquamancers needing help.

There is no way I can kill someone while they are doing me 1.4k damage a hit and my level has nothing to do with that. I have three choices: spam web, spam shield, or run. All the aquamancer has to do is point staff drago and order turtle attack drago (and those turtles attack pretty fast)Elryn2005-02-16 04:48:09

Actually, I would say that Guardians are a much stronger archetype than Wiccans at this point - maybe it will change though. Again, just my opinion.

Your inability to deal with the damage an aquamancer is doing to you with a staff does not negate the fact that they are very vulnerable outside of a demesne. There are plenty of people who can deal with the run of the mill pointstaff damage of an aquamancer. You have options to slow down the aquamancer, heck you can shield over and over while your demon (Giving its unknown afflictions in a given set) to the mage. If she has to break your shield over and over just to get a staff in, that is just more time for your demon to do its work. If she turns on the demon, then you can turn on her.
* Don't you also have other skills that will help you mitigate some of the damage you are receiving?
Drago2005-02-16 08:07:26
I was using them
I think the fact that, of all the people on this forum, you seem to be the only person -arguing- that aquamancers aren't the "best off", points to something.

I remember in one of my spars against Ceres, the dragon turtle hit me for 250, 250, 250, 250, 1700, 250.
Woah Don't think taint wyrms or stag pets can do that.

And since you can turn almost any room into a demesne, your arugment boils down to "Aquamancers are weak if they plan poorly."
Furthermore, I put some thought into my vote and the rationale boils down to one word: DILUTE
