Everyone agrees that Mages need more resistance, its just, they don't need diamondskin resistance.

I agree with Silvanus. We could use a slight boost, but not the insane boost diamondskin gives.

Yes. I'm not saying give us diamondskin, but give us some sort of boost to physical resistance. I remember Rhysus brought up a suggestion on the Aquamancers channel a while ago - make Liquidform an activated ability that, rather than being as stupid as it is now, makes us be able to take less damage from physical attacks.

I always thought it would be nice if Magi can use their mana in the form of a Mana Shield that will absorbs 2 damage for every mana point and drains mana slowly in the process. It won't make Magi ungodly tanky and still make them give up one thing for another.

It'd make Magi Cabalists from Aetolia, which can't be killed iwth damage.

That idea would have Merit Terenas, but it would have to be limited to physical cutting and blunt protection.

No-one should be tanky to all types of damage. Every race-class combo should have a 'fatal flaw' so it speak.

I'm not sure what Cabalists have in Aetolia, but here at least we all know knights are vastly stronger than any other IRE games, both with deepwounds and much better strength and elemental runes. I don't think it would be a far stretch to give Magi something like that.

Yeah, it might be good to just limit to physical cutting/blunt damage. Magic and elemental based should still go through so Magi and Guardians can still fight each other.

Strength here doesn't affect damage as much as it does in other realms, it more effects deepwounds (hence bugger all difference when i went dracnari with -2 str than viscanti)

I BBTed a Cabalist 40 times in a row, as a Xoran, and he still had 3/4ths of his mana. What Cabalists did was, they can get down to 0 health, but then mana is like.. the new health, so you have to go through the mana also.

Yes, thus making Grook Cabalists the most tanky thing in existance, which was just plain wrong.

And pretty much, Merian would be tanky also, since they just sip mana and able to regenerate health, and never die.

Hmm, never thought of it that way, since I always thought it would be like monks with transmute. But if it's that powerful, just make it half damage to health and half to mana. But the damage to health is factored in after resistance and defenses, while mana is off base damage with nothing applied. Just throwing random ideas out for fun, it'd be neat if they got some better defenses, but I agree, no diamondskin.
