Has anyone noticed a connection between the amount of comms and the stats of the wapons? I know there is a connection with the number of forgings and the stats.
Richter2005-02-20 10:57:46
I certainly hope not. If that's the case, I'm going to make weapons that cost 400 steel to make.

Outlay: steel 50 iron 25 wood 5 beryl 1 sapphire 1 moonstone 1 ruby 1
Damage: 182 To-hit: 146 Speed: 141
Those are pretty good stats, and they don't take -too- many comms. I wonder about this...
Ixion2005-02-20 11:46:17
No connection between comms and stats.
Daganev2005-02-20 11:50:05
Then why do some weapons take 70 forgings while others only take 60?
Daganev2005-02-20 11:50:27
and what type of weapon did you get 184 damage on?

Comms don't matter, but the base item and how many times it is refined does matter. You can only refine a forging so many times before it reaches "perfection" adn cannot be refined anymore
Daganev2005-02-20 13:08:11
Yes I realize that, but not all Master flail designs have 64 forgings before reaching perfection is my point. And some rapiers seem to be able to get 76 forgings before being done.
celahir2005-03-04 15:32:57
I think its random. It may be something to do with the sum of the stats though like runes are.
silimaur2005-03-08 09:40:39
dwarven runes on weapons should last longer *sagenod*
that way people who cant forge can use them to
celahir2005-03-08 13:14:39
No cos runes aremeant to be a treat for the forger. Such as trans herbalists get lower herb balance and more puffs forgers get runes and full plate.

The more comms it costs the richer you look. I think anway
silimaur2005-03-08 13:16:55
i guess...hmm how does armour affect the way you look though is it the same for with rings etc?
celahir2005-03-10 13:13:22
Yes its the same with rings.
If you have a moonstone fieldplate you look richer but its harder to reforge if you get crappy stats. While the basic fieldplate is easier to reforge but you then dont look as rich.

Wooden rings however wear 10 and your royalty biggrin.gif
silimaur2005-03-10 13:17:02
i have moonstone fielplate...but i dont like wearing lots of rings

That was Tetra, and I think I included the etched runes on that stat. Took ten forgings.
Estarra2005-03-10 21:34:41
There's a fair bit of randomness involved in forging.

As a general rule, forgings that take more comms generally are better insofar as master weapons have better stats and require more comms than ordinary weapons. However, the number comms don't directly affect the quality of a weapon.

What weapon costs 400 steel to make?
Richter2005-03-10 22:12:00
None of them. Yet! Master masterweapons? *twiddle*
