Can someone give me a general rundown on nihilists...? I think rituals is a really cool skill and I can't choose between nihilists or ur'guard...
BTW I am gonna be a viscanti either way...

Nihilists have 2 set specialised skills (Nihilism over Cosmic, Cosmic containing a few defences and a weak attack, and Nihilism summoning a demon with random afflictions and having it attack people, Necromancy over Rituals, Rituals with a few basic things like puella to heal you, laetitia to restore ego, etc., and Necromancy with an assortment of things like ectoplasm that slows balance recovery until cleansed, ghost that lets you flee pretty dang well (you can't be attacked), and lich that prevents you from losing experience when you die)) and either tarot, which has lots of "utility" powers like hermit that lets you return to where you set it, and empress that summons allies (from worldwide, if they're lusted with a lust tarot) or hexes, which curses people with various afflictions from anorexia to asthma.

Don't know much about the guild politics et al. They were horrible when I was there, but that was eons ago when things weren't really sorted out yet.

If you go Nihilist, make sure you choose tarot, not hexes.
Silvanus2005-02-21 00:47:04
A Nihilist is very good one on one, especially with aeon. While the Ur'Guard can tank a lot more, but don't dish out afflictions all that well. If you want to damage, go Knight, if you want to kill with instantkills/afflictions, go Nihilist.

Knights are rubbish against anyone with trans combat who knows how to use it. I would say that Guardians are the best archetype, currently.
silimaur2005-02-24 13:04:22
i agree with ceres we knights are pretty useless coming up against anyone that knows how to use their skills properly, all we have as an advantage is damage which can easily bebeaten by other types anyway

i was wondering how long do the Nihilist demons you summon stay in realm?

They last until you quit or someone kills them.
Shiri2005-02-27 18:37:17
It's worth noting that even if you die, they don't, unlike Moondancer fae, and other defences. So if you get immolated/sacraments rezzed (not likely, but it has happened tongue.gif) or just plain ol' die to a mobile, you can call it back and not have to spend the 5 power again.
Silvanus2005-02-27 18:38:03
Crap? Damn? Hell? Crappity-Crapcrap? Crap on a stick? Damned crap in hell?

Unedit my poll!

I apologize to anyone who has to read this aside from Shiri.

How long does pacts for demon lords last cause as it seems it takes a lot of power to make a pact?
Unknown2005-03-01 01:56:50
Indefinitely, unless the Demon Lord is slain.
Unknown2005-03-01 01:57:26
Your pact with demon lord will last until that demon lord is slain.

Bah, too slow doh.gif

IC I would say go ur'Guard, go recruiting!

OOC I would say go Nihilist for sure as they are guardians, which simply dominate one on one combat.
Daganev2005-03-01 02:02:38
If you want Roleplay, go ur'guard, if you want to kill people go Nihilist, if you want to kill monsters, go ur'guard, if you want to be able to help establish roleplay go Nihilist.

its not the guild, its the members. I'm sure you'll fix it soon.

Guardian's dominate one on one? Not really, I'd say warriors moreso.
