I'm looking into this, myself. Those guards weren't standguard permanent... no one ever thought it mattered, since they weren't supposed to be able to leave the Pool. No one ordered them to move, or either didn't fess up.

Things like this really screw up the rhythm of the game, if you know what I mean. It's almost like we should have a time-out button, for when bugs or possible abuses happen. But that would throw off the suspension of disbelief, meh.

As I said before, there are several scenarios where guards may chase outside of the Pool. First and foremost, if someone walked in on the guards and ran off the pool, they could very well follow (although I don't know if this was intended or not).

Guards cannot go from one area to the other, but they can chase enemies if they are still in the same area, here's the problem:
