Gorgulu..

Back to Common Grounds.

Although She can find no fault in the strategy we used in order to be able to defeat Gorgulu, it has been noted that no two mortals should be able to defeat him regardless of healing used or their character level.

As such, those involved and I will make no further incursions into Nil until this has been addressed, as was my word. I won't take advantage of something that shouldn't be to put a burden on any organization that should not be able to be placed.

Once the situation has been addressed, however, and things are as they should be, we will be trying again. Until that time, we stand down.

I guess the appropriate thing for me to say is "thanks" smile.gif

Holy s**t, a reasonable Celestian? RUN FOR THE HILLS!
Jack2005-02-26 07:14:43
Thanks. It's nice to see an island of sanity in the temptous sea of idiocy that comprises the majority of Celest.

Good analogy, eh?

(Ten credit says some smartass quasi-novice is gonna quote me and say "No"!)

Let's just make all the Supernals and Demon Lords immortal, and we can just ICly think they are killable. Then let's put an end to all raids, and make all loyal mobs unable to die. Then we'll make a common meeting ground where everyone from every city/commune can meet and snuggle, and maybe perhaps debate on their different philosophies, without so much as a scuffle. The taint can become nice, and the Light can lose interest in destroying it. Let's remove PvP entirely, and make this a MUSH, then everyone will be happy.
Daganev2005-02-26 11:17:51
your sarcasm is not appreciated.

I don't quite see how you can compare 2 people being able to kill them to being snuggly.
Unknown2005-02-26 11:28:55
I think if you have two people that are level 80+, and have 6k+ health each, one of them loaded in health regeneration, and health adding artifacts, and absolutely NO enemy resistance, with people repeatedly healing them over and over from a distance (nearly killing themselves), then yes, they should be able to. In fact, Magnagora has the largest percentage of high level bashers (Kaervas, Melanchthon, Daevos, Ixion, etc, etc), and they should have the easiest time taking out Supernals. But Celest actually put up a fight, (they also encountered some guards due to a bug), and thusly stopped them.

And why didn't they use Nexus ripples? Because there was no one? Well make more people able to! When choosing security/protectors, the goal is to find a wide variety of people in different time zones to fill the positions.

And I think my sarcasm is necessary, it is the path Lusternia seems to be taking at times.
Daganev2005-02-26 11:34:54
Incase you didn't read the threads... Nexus ripple was broken. when 6 people are around, you can't expect to have a person from each guild be around who has such powers. But i'm sure you allready know all that.

I don't care if the two people are level 99, they shouldn't be able to just slay a demon lord. Only vernal gods should have that type of power.
Unknown2005-02-26 11:38:27
They are only half formed, it doesn't need a vernal God.
Daganev2005-02-26 11:50:19
They are half formed divine beings.

1 or 2 mortals should not be able to kill them.
Unknown2005-02-26 11:52:08
Why not? Exceptional beings, using strategy and hard work, should be able to. Unless it was done fairly quick.
Drago2005-02-26 11:54:16
Umm.. No.

No group of mortals less then 5 should have any chance of killing a Supernal or Demon Lord.

Even Ladantine, who was approaching the power of a Vernal God at the time, was careful not to disrespect the Holy Emanations, which is what the Demon Lords are, just empowered by the Taint.
Unknown2005-02-26 12:01:46
Well, technically it wasn't less than five from what I understand. Weren't there farhealers?

Narsrim2005-02-26 12:10:21
I'm a bit confused myself. In Aetolia/Achea, it was possible for 1 person to kill Yuddhi and other MASSIVE honours mobs that made Gorgulu look like an imp. How is this unfair but based upon the same mechanics in other realms, it simply defines two good bashers.

EDIT: And you silly Magnagoras thought Estarra was against you. You might want to thank her too smile.gif
Daganev2005-02-26 12:12:58
Because this is not other games, and Demon Lords are not "some mob"

The death of supernals and the like, Completely stop a city in its tracts do to the HOURS and HOURS of questing needed to get the city working again. Not to mention the loss of skills that people experience.
Niara2005-02-26 12:50:30
Magnagora overdid it with their constant attacks every 5 minutes and now Celest is overdoing it. As thrilling it might be to fight such strong creatures like Gorgulu I find it very questinable to do it over and over again with the sole purpose to piss off a whole organization, even if Magnagora deserves it.
In my eyes the point was made, now move on.

Uh, are you kidding? This might as well be our calling. The reason it's done over and over is because we're fighting the Taint, and one of the greatest representations of the power of the Taint are the Demon Lords of Nil. Restoring one of them to their glory as beings of Shallamar is one of the greatest goals of Celest's citizens.

I find it questionable that the Serenwilde repeatedly try to capture villages. As thrilling as it might be to do so the first time they shouldn't keep at it for the sole purpose of pissing off two other organizations, even if they deserve it for being cities.

Sounds idiotic doesn't it? That's cause it is! Shush now!
Niara2005-02-26 16:10:17
Rhysus, you seem to be under the very silly impression that it is possible to really destroy your foes, that you can win or whatever you want to call it...but no, it is not and never should be possible. Magnagora tried to show us that it is possible to destroy their foes and failed and so will you......and comparing it to influencing is just sad.
