Revan leaves to the west.
Marcalo gives the world a thumbs up.
Stangmar arrives from the east.
Alger slips into a golden dragon ring.
Stangmar stares into his cupped hands.
Alger rubs up against a golden dragon ring affectionately.
Does this look unrealistic to anyone else?
Rauros2005-02-26 06:20:06
Um... not particularly. He slips into it, like you would any ring. It's assumed he slips into it by puting his finger through the ring, right?
Drago2005-02-26 06:21:08
It should probably be "slips a -ring- onto his finger-" but its not that bad really.

What's odd is when someone 'slips into' a flower.
Unknown2005-02-26 06:38:33
Thats what i mean. Generally, its ok. But it sounds like Buho got lazy... slipping into a ring, which gives the same message as slipping into a field plate or something, suggests that he is actually sliding his body into it...
I dunno, it just kinda bothers me.

I don't think Buho did those messages. Heck, they're likely pulled from the other IRE games.
I think the flowers are just an oversight. When they made them wearable they didn't take that into account.

Yes yes.. and if you "love" some gold, you find out that you can take some gold sovereigns by the proverbial "hand" and whisper that you love them.

The truly rich form life-sized, human-shaped statues of their sovereigns, thus the hand-holding and grope-festivals of gold that occur.

Now, now. I do the good code not the bad messages.
Unknown2005-02-26 08:50:18
Ah. Well, you're the only coder I know about, and I needed to blame one of the coders, so, ya, sorry.
Soll2005-02-26 09:57:09
Yeah, those weird emotes like 'pinch Pool' or 'handhake gold' (pointing out two things it clearly doesn't have, hands and eyes confuse me. :S

I believe that...
Yeah, not great messages. Not likely to get changed soon though.

TYPO them, and we'll fix them in a few years or so.
Unknown2005-02-26 17:41:17
Yeah, some of the messages are sometimes way silly. Whenever a horse smiles gleefully at me when smile at it, I laugh. But mostly they're ignorable for me, and when not, laughable.
Maybe they should replace all the 'slips into' with 'puts on.' That sounds better to me than 'slips into' and it fits more things.
Jane puts on a silver pixie ring.
You put on a silver pixie ring.
John puts on a pair of black trousers.

Plus it looks funny to see guys slipping into things. To me anyway. It just strikes me as a more feminine way of describing putting clothing/whatever on. But that just might be me.
