Guild Credit Transfers

Currently, with the guild credit system, guild members have to either give the money to their guildmaster in person, or deposit it in the bank, and the credits are then transferred. Two ideas to make this a little easier, one more complicated than the other:

Plan A:
Instead of the current syntax GUILD CREDITS TRANSFER TO , use something like GUILD CREDITS TRANSFER TO FOR so the guild member would be automatically charged for the credits, and then have the money automatically deposited in the guild's account. This could work the same way for cities too.

Plan B:
Further remove the transferring power from the guildmaster, and make the process a bit easier on guildmates. Have the guildmaster be able to set certain parameters about who can buy guild credits, and how much..
GUILD CREDITS SET
GUILD CREDITS PRICE
GUILD CREDITS AMOUNT
..and then allow guildmates to GUILD CREDITS BUY . This would work whether or not the guildmaster were online at the time, would prevent guildmembers from buying more than their allotted amount, and would take the money from the inventory of the purchaser and deposit it automatically in the guild's bank account.

Dyr seconds Plan B,
I third Plan B,

Yay Plan B. Just make sure you add an option to GUILD/CITY CREDITS BLOCK (person) if they are banned from buying credits (stupid guild policy regarding trading with people from a certain city...) and GUILD/CITY CREDITS UNBLOCK (person).

Or maybe have a permissions list type thing:
GUILD CREDIT PERMISSIONS ADD RANK 5 10 CREDITS AT 2000 GOLD
GUILD CREDIT PERMISSIONS ADD RANK 10 10 CREDITS AT 1800 GOLD
GUILD CREDIT PERMISSIONS ADD NOT BLASTRON
and so forth...

I like it. I like it alot.

I LOVE plan b. Thta would eliminate the need to the Guildmaster to have to be around to transfer the credits and make it easier. But if not, at least let the Admin be able to fiddle with credits as well so that guild sales could be easier (especially if the Admin is around more than the GM)

With Manse-like Perms.
Lyren2005-02-27 22:14:11
Manse-like perms but a little modified, I should think, to include only those related to the guild - the guildmaster shouldn't be able to sell guild credits only to his/her allies, etc..same goes for city credits, I forgot to mention that in the original post.

Yeah.
Laysus2005-02-28 08:36:42
problem with this is working out how many can be sold and how many should be left in the guild coffers. In the moondancers, only three people can buy at a time, and there's a large list which they're cycled through. You'd still need someone to change who's able to buy them every month or so.

With minor considerations, this can be worked excellently for everyone.

I really like this idea, it needs many more possible options though.

Different amounts you can buy per month based on rank. Rank 1 can buy 5, rank 10 can buy 20 sort of thing.
Different prices for different ranks.
Automated blocking. Like, anyone can buy 10 but can't buy again untill the GM or ADMIN unblocks them. (this would be good for special contests, or rotations I would think)

And ofcourse add this to the city.
Also, a reminder that people can donate credits to a city or guild. smile.gif

What's so hard about
DEPOSIT x GOLD -guildname-
msg -guildmaster- Excuse me, but my donation was for guild credits, thank you.

Guild master logs in, reads messages and has four people asking for guild credits, checks logs, sees they donated, transfers credits over.

Hell, the GM can even make it based by rank, GHELP files are so useful..

QUOTE

Novices may not currently purchase guild credits.
GR1 Members may purchase 5 credits a month at 2000 gold a credit.
GR2 Members may purchase 5 credits a month at 1600 gold a credit.
GR3 Members may purchase 10 credits a month at 1600 gold a credit.
GR4 Members may purchase 20 credits a month at 1600 gold a credit.
GR5 Members may purchase 35 credits a month at 1600 gold a credit.
GR6+ Members may purchase 50 credits a month at 1600 gold a credit.
Security/Protectors/Undersecretaries may purchase an extra 10 credits per month at a 200 gold discount, depending on their current rank.
Guild Envoy may purchase an extra 20 credits per month at a 300 gold discount, depending on their current rank.
Secretaries may purchase 60 credits a month at 1200 gold a credit.
Admin/Gm/Guild Champion may purchase 75 credits a month at 1200 gold a credit.

Special: Security Members may be given an "emergancy" quote of credits, should the need arise. This emergency extension is extended to Secretaries, the Champion and the Administrator.

Guild Credits may also be given out in situations where a guildfavor would not be appropriate, or in a situation where a guildfavor is "not enough".

You can check your member's Guildrank with 19 simple triggers happy.gif

That requires an Active GM and Administrator tongue.gif

Remember the Aquamancers?
Drago2005-02-28 11:32:43
That's the guild's fault for not contesting and revoting in an inactive GM.

The wonder of IRE's political system is that if you don't like the leaders, you can contest them.
Daganev2005-02-28 11:34:06
I guess you don't remember... They were contested 2 or 3 times.
also, 100 hours is a long time when you want credits *nod me*
Drago2005-02-28 11:35:21
Oh, I do remember. I also recall calling the Aquamancers a bunch of morons happy.gif.
