My Open Beta Trader Bob vials are slowly decaying, and purchasing new vials is ridiculously expensive. Five gems to make a vial is ridiculous, vials made of gems is ridiculous. I'll settle with glass vials for 50 gold. Once everyone's Open Beta vials decay, we will need to be able to have a cheaper vials in circulation. Can we fix this? Thanks.

What's the cost of gems?
Karrah2005-03-04 05:11:41
Sorry, can you change the name Dag?

Cheapest vials I could find where 250 gold. Cheapest gems I could find where 50 gold.

Its really going to be intersting when thousands of vials decay the same dat...

Whenever I got buy up refills for astral hunting, I buy in some new vials from Bob's. This keeps me in more than adequate vials.

All of mine are going to decay at the same time, ugh.

250 gold isn't bad. I'm used to paying 300 a vial in Achaea.

I had something similar happen to me when I first learned how to Burrow in Totems. I was pretty low level, probably < 21. The first time I burrowed below I burrowed around a few rooms in Serenwilde. I still had well over 50% Endurance, 100% health. Suddenly I just died. Some random message, it said "You have been slain by Cher-something-or-other." I couldn't find the word in a dictionary, or in HONOURS. Don't have a clue what the hell happened. It hasn't happened since though, and that was probably 1-1.5 years ago.

Heh, wrong thread, Bwbettin.

250 gold coins for a new vial is actually quite nice...Achaea, Imperian, there they usually cost 300 so it is fine. I guess though that there will soon be a gem shortage.
Karrah2005-03-05 01:27:36
Naw Imperian was much cheaper. They where made of wood too in Imperian.
Buho2005-03-05 03:58:22
I don't know about Imperian, 250 is cheaper then Aetolia or Achaea. And both of theirs are made of wood too. You all seem to forget one key point when you compain prices here and prices in other IRE games. Gold here is by far easier to get.,
Gwylifar2005-03-05 05:30:06
I think the concern is the cost of the vial proportionate to the cost of the stuff in it. In Aetolia refills cost about twice what they do here, and up, and venoms cost about three to ten times what they cost here. But the vials cost about the same.

Why should the vial be cheaper? I think it's backwards in the other realms, almost. Vials last much longer than the potions in them, usually, so I think it makes sense to have them cost more.

I sell vials at 180

I think five gems per vial is a bit much, personally.

It appears that the minimum price of a raw gem commodity is 108g, meaning that on average, the best market price we should expect per gem (excluding a profit margin for the randomness of gems or salt/sulfur/powerstones) is around 90-100.

That means vials should cost between 450-500 gold each if we expect jewellers to make cost. I'd think 3 gems per vial is a bit more reasonable, and maybe a skill in jewelry/arts that allows you to smash a vial and recover two gem shards back.
