I am an assistant librarian at the OU physics and astronomy library. My major is political science and I know nothing of physics and nothing about astronomy but I can tell you anything you need to know about how books are catalouged or how to find whatever you need in a library.
So today this person comes in and asks me a some physics question. I politely reply that I am majoring in political science and dont know the answer.
So he says "This is the physics library right?"
I answer yes. So he decides to question me as to why I work in a physics library when I dont know anything about physics. So I tell him not so nicely that its the same reason that there is a physics office full of nice people who cant answer a physics question but sure can answer a phone like a champion. He doesnt like this too well and starts yelling at me. So I tell him if he needs to find a book on what he wants to know then I can help him, but if not to get the
out the library.
And I was having such a good day.
