What the hell is WhatPulse?

WhatPulse is an application/server which accumilates the amount of times you press a key on your keyboard/click your mouse, and then ranks you on their website to tens of thousands of other WhatPulse members.

You can then create these statistics into a signature, which you can use to place in your forum(s) signature.

Within WhatPulse, there are teams, which people from a group of computer-related or non-computer-related people can be divided in to. I have create a particular team: Lusternia.

How can I get WhatPulse?

Here are some links which will help you obtain/use WhatPulse:

WhatPulse Home
Register with WhatPulse
Download the WhatPulse Client (direct link)
View Overall Stats
WhatPulse Signature Images
WhatPulse Teams (search for "Lusternia" -- password for Lusternia Team is: estarra)
(You can access all these links from http://whatpulse.org.)

You can customize your signature a hell of a lot -- select a background from some images on the size, or upload your own picture; customize the font face, font size, stats to be displayed, order of stats displayed, shadowing of text, positioning etc.

If you are still unsure of what WhatPulse is, go to What is WhatPulse?

Join Team Lusternia!

*twitch* Do I really want to download a program that will monitor my every press of a keyboard or click of a mouse? *twitch*

Edit: It just reminds me too much of those password tracking programs.

It could be scary to see these enormous numbers soon.
Just like seeing "You have played for a total of ..." in your stat can be scary.

Well, if it did track your passwords, I don't think 40,000 people would be actively using it. I see many people on many different sorts of forums using it. Have a look at their website. wink.gif
Daganev2005-03-02 03:41:34
happy now? theres a sucker born on every forum.

Well, if trojans did track your passwords, I don't think 40,000 people would have them active on their computers.

Good logic there.
Daganev2005-03-02 04:04:53
You actually can use the program to track passwords and such, if your sneaky about it. However the program only updates specific information as you set it.
Raezon2005-03-02 06:16:20
I was going to say, there's millions upon millions of people that use lots of programs that track information... all those bars you download to "help" you with searching, the special smileys for im's... AND they're all tracking all your information, yet those millions of people still use them. Personally... just personally mind you, I'd only install this on a computer that you play games on rather than any you might use to make credit card purchases and the like. That is if you have more than one computer. I have my "secure" computer and my "game" computer and my laptop for travel, so such a setup allows you to kind of differentiate what you do, where.
Daganev2005-03-02 06:41:26
I did a search for whatpulse on the net, couldn't find any negetive comments, was anyone else able to find things differently?
Unknown2005-03-02 08:34:51
You should make you Signature Image a little larger, Dag.

EDIT: *gasp* You used an uppercase 'D'.

I don't download any programs or smilies at all... ninja.gif

But WhatPulse only loads on one (my) login, so you could just have 2 logins on Windows if you were paranoid. I'm not paranoid though, and I don't have any credit cards to use.

Will this auto update everytime that I connect to the internet when the program is loaded up?

And time for school sad.gif. Talk to you all later.
Manjanaia2005-03-02 16:50:09
Um, is that grey sign scanning my info?
Manjanaia2005-03-02 16:52:31
It's displaying information from my computer, that grey sign in Zaltans sig. Zaltan, whatever it is, get rid of it.
Desdemona2005-03-02 17:05:55
Or just go to www.danasoft.com and get a sign of your own.
Manjanaia2005-03-02 17:08:46
I don't want one. Sorry if you all think I'm overreacting but I don't want some random sign reading my information and displaying it.
